“They risked their lives together,” Trogden, a pastor who knew the Bordens in Charlotte, N.C., said. “Mike and Cathy were willing not only to risk their lives but to lay down their lives.

“And they did so ... together.”

“They loved you so much,” he said, speaking to the Borden children, “and cared for you so well, and prayed for you.”

“Kara was able to reach out to touch some of the most unlovely people.”

I don't know. The statement is baffling.
Seems to me she definitely reached out to the very wrong person.

It is baffling. Also, I was struck by the fact that the kids were so "composed."

I pray those children will someday forget this nightmare, but I rather doubt it!

God be with them.

Very moving story. Prayers for the children and family and friends of this couple.

Both of my parents passed away within 4 years of each other, and their desire was that the gospel be preeminent at each of their funerals. Both funerals were very touching and moving, and as the children, we drew tremendous strength from them.

It may well break the family apart, unless grandparents, aunts and uncles are strong and loving people.

I think it's called shock...but maybe they were just really, really strict parents....I think the girl went willingly.

I'm thinking she did too. Hope I'm wrong.

I hate to be judgmental but looking at Kara's pictures she looks to me to be the type that could be TROUBLE as in 14 going on 24.

I went out with a girl like that one time, it was like taking a drug.
