You get full credit, it was there by implication.
DNA tests are still being conducted so there is still a chance one of the 3 suicide bombers was z.
Y'know, I wish they wouldn't even mention this until they know for sure, one way or the other. The media does this consistently...hype, hype, hype, and then it turns out not to be true. They did it during the search for WMD after Saddam was toppled. It was, "Oh! Oh! Oh! We found some!", even if the troops on the field cautioned them that the tests on the field might not be accurate and they had to be put through more accurate tests to be sure. Then invariably, the more accurate test would be negative.
HEY MEDIA! JUST SHUT UP UNTIL YOU KNOW FOR CERTAIN!
at least when I first posted this, I said "I'm really skeptical"
Actually, I believe it was the Arab Press that started this story.
thanks for the video link. 4 days, so in 48 hours we should know if we got him or not.
Well, it has been 48 hrs. and no DNA results. I have searched
all over the net and nothing. I wonder what the story is?
Jihad's most ruthless serial killer will slip up and will be sent where he belongs.
The day after your post I cant find any results of the DNA test either.
But, I did find an article to led me to believe we might now want it known if he did die:
(He is his own worst enemy, great PR for our side)
Why al Qaeda Wants Zarqawi Dead
November 22, 2005: Killing Iraqi terrorist leader Abu Musab al Zarqawi could be a defeat in the war on terror. On November 20th, a raid on a house in Mosul, Iraq, resulted in a number of terrorists blowing themselves up rather than be captured. It was thought that al Zarqawi was in the house. His death would be a mixed blessing. While hes certainly been an effective terrorist leader, able to inspire the suicide-happy wackos to some spectacular atrocities, hes also been, in some ways a liability for al Qaeda, and the Sunni Arab groups fighting their government. Attacks on women, children, mosques, clerics, have been PR disasters. Operations like these appear to have put al Zarqawi on the outs with at least part of al Qaedas more senior leadership, including Osama bin Laden.
So, do we gain more from his death because his organizational and leadership skills are no longer directing the religious elements in the terrorist organization, or do we lose because the al Qaeda leadership asserts more control, and curbs the bloodier attacks on women, children, mosques, etc?
As the old saying goes, choose your friends carefully, and your enemies even more carefully. Al Zarqawi's bloody minded attitude towards Shia Arabs (because Islamic conservatives consider Shia to be heretics), and Iraqi civilians in general, has made him the most hated man in Iraq. Because of al Zarqawis tactics, al Qaeda has seen its approval rating plunge throughout the Arab world. The recent bombing of a wedding in Jordan, which al Zarqawi took credit for, turned many pro-al Qaeda Jordanians against the terrorists. Al Zarqawi sensed his gaffe a few days later, and released a video of him trying to explain what really happened, and that his suicide bomber actually hit a secret meeting of Israeli and American secret agents. That did not go over well with grieving, and very ticked off, Jordanians.
Its only a matter of time before Arabs start insisting that al Zarqawi is really an Israeli agent, working from the inside to destroy al Qaeda. Meanwhile, lets try and keep our guy ali, er, on the run.

If you hear anything else on this subject give me a ping to it please. I thought we would hear one way or the other the results of the DNA test.
I am taking that to mean:
But, I did find an article to led me to believe we might NOT want it known if he did die:
Possible, but I doubt it. It does the US reputation good to be seen to catch those we are after and it would encourage those in the area that want Zarqawi gone.
It could be there was a delay in the test or that, while urgent, they are being double checked. It would not do to say he was dead and have him appear on a video hold a recent newspaper.
"..Jabr said one of the women had a tattoo on her chest reading "martyrdom".
"There was a dead man who we suspected to be al-Zarqawi. A DNA test was done ... and until now we are still waiting for the results," Jabr told reporters. "I believe he is not al-Zarqawi.".."
From this, I get the results have not come out yet. If they are finished with the tests I don't know why they have not released the results.
Thanks. Ive been searching daily to find anything out about the DNA tests, even that they are still pending as the article you found suggests. At least someone is saying the results are not in. The story had fallen off the end of the world.
Including Blogs. So thanks for the ping.
If I come across anything on it you will get a ping.
Strategy Page is close...Zarqawi released a November 18 *audio* tape in which he claimed his Jordan wedding bombing was directed at secret Jewish and American agents...then he announced that he'd be assasinating Jordan's popular King Abdullah.
...Haven't heard from Zarqawi since.

Getting negative DNA results cn be a lot faster than getting positive ones. If the easy and fast tests are positive, you might need to dig a bit deeper.
Let us hope that is the case.

Report: al-Qaida rejects Algerian recruits
LONDON, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Al-Qaida has reportedly rejected hundreds of Arab recruits to fight the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq.
Islamic sources said al-Qaida network chief Abu Mussib Al Zarqawi has rejected a large contingent of Arab nationals for recruitment in the Sunni insurgency in Iraq, the Middle East News Line reported.
"The feeling was that these Arabs were sent by the United States or Britain to infiltrate Al Zarqawi's organization," an Islamic source said.
The sources said many of the Arabs rejected by Al Zarqawi were Algerian nationals who volunteered for service in Europe. They said U.S. intelligence had penetrated Algerian factions and sent agents to join al-Qaida in Iraq.
Algerians have played a major role in Al Zarqawi's network in Iraq, but al-Qaida has determined that some of the Algerians were U.S. plants who helped unravel cells in northern and western Iraq, the report said.
Thanks that is interesting.
Transcript: National Security Adviser Hadley on 'FNS'
"..WALLACE: Now, you say if. According to reports, the information minister of Pakistan says they have made a DNA match.
HADLEY: We have seen those reports out of Pakistan. Obviously, we're looking into them. At this point, we are not in a position publicly to confirm that he is dead. But we're obviously -- if he is, that's a good thing for the War on Terror..."
It sure did not take them a log time in Pakistan to make a DNA match.
I have checked the news every day and there has been no reference to Zarqawi dna tests. There has been more than enough time to conduct the tests. They could say it's yes, no, or even inconclusive results. I wonder why they don't?
So have I ,nearly every day and nothing on the Dna test result...nothing out there.
Thats strange. Surely the test is concluded but why withold the results? Im going to need more tinfoil.
