Murtha's intentions might be good (debatable), but he's naive IMHO. He's simply wrong. If we leave, we can look forward to seeing millions of Kurds and Shiities die, and one heck of a civil war.
I'd prefer Bambi (Murtha) vs. Godzilla. One stomp and it's all over.

BTW, I believe Murtha does think he is correct in his resolution. I think he is honorable, but dead wrong. The republicans have treated him with respect, and I think Murtha is lying to say he's been vilified.

He's worse than that and he's dangerous.
I work with highest echelons of the Corps and thats what they think of him. They spit on the mention of his name today. It is like he's been excommunicated for heresy.
Murtha has followed in the footsteps of Jean Qerri: cashing in on a military career to BETRAY the wartime-deployed armed forces of the United States of America.

I'm afraid I know too many people up here in the northeast (including friends and family) who are Republicans/independents/swing voters, etc., who only pay for basic cable or "America's Top 50" on Dish Network (I don't know about DirecTV). CNN is the only cable news network included in these basic packages.
Also, there are far too many people up here who STILL believe CNN is THE cable news network to tune into, based on its success back during the Gulf War in the early 90s. They're not all necessarily liberals, just "busy" and misinformed...
Murtha is saying we fell short of recruitment, but I read they were on track.
Yes, military was on track. When I check the numbers, each time these "numbers" show up, I find the "new recruitment" numbers do not at all include the re-enlisted. Then when I read about "re-enlisted" down.. I see the MSM de-selects the "new recruitment" stats. It's all a shell game; the way THEY play it.
Lastly, the re-enlistment stats are good. Dems obviously know this, and are hoping to see the re-enlists (with their bonuses, dittos, new enlistees) be removed from the jobs they are being paid to do.
Democrats love to hand out money. Especially, in this weird "welfarian" logic of theirs.
En Point, Dems wanna not only blow off Iraq and the mid-east -- they wanna BLOW the Taxpayer's money.
I've seen the UNIONS do this. Workers get signed on for a "term". Then, there's no work. But the Workers still get paid. I learned this from some Union Hacks protesting Republicans/conservatives at various events.
Same trick.
