Exactly howlin and one speaker ( i didnt catch who) made that point. All there know their positions. What this boils down to is this. The Dems do not want to go on the record with their position stating yes they are for this or no they are they not.
This is about a closed in simple resolution that gets all who vote off the fence and puts those that refuse to vote out in deep water. Kinda hard to claim to be for democracy when you refuse to vote.
Proof is in the pudding, Dems are busted today Big Time.

Huh???? Where was he when our Embassies were bombed? Beirut, The Cole, WTC's 1 & 2, Pentagon, etc... would it have taken the plane hitting the capital building to actually wake some of these people up once and for all??

By forcing the issue to a vote, Republicans placed many Democrats in a politically unappealing position — whether to side with Murtha and expose themselves to attacks from the White House and congressional Republicans, or whether to oppose him and risk angering the voters that polls show want an end to the conflict.
This obviously makes no sense. If most Americans really do favor an immediate pollout, then why would Democrats fear "exposing themselves to attacks from the White House"? And why would the Republicans gain politically from taking a position thta "angers the voters"?
Lots of folks could ... and not just liberals. Have you considered what it would mean if the pullout vote actually passed, or is even close? It's not impossible.
Color me nervous.
