Just heard on CNN that Ellen Tauscher has been in the Dem. strategy session, and most of them plan on VOTING PRESENT...Rat Bas***ds.
You expect more from a group of surrendering cowards?
Hannity is thinking the Dems will maneuver to avoid the vote, so they won't 'go on record' as supporting the immediate pull out.
Kerry and his "plans".
Put up or shut up.
ahhhhh, stock, x2 stroke, "word" and speech.......I am your(?) hahaha
Were can I contribute?
Good idea, but no way are these weenies going to show up on the floor of the House for such a vote. Starting this afternoon we will see all the Dem. pundits and other spokespeople on CNN, Hardball, and various other MSM screaming to the top of their lungs that this a "ploy" and questioning the timing. Then when the actual vote comes, none of them will be there.
You watch, it'll be a voice vote with the chair declaring the winning side. There will not be a paper record of how anyone person votes.
IF DEMS DON'T SHOW UP FOR IRAQ -- will Speaker Hastert order Sgt. at Arms to round them up? |

Date: 11-18-05 Tonight at approximately 7pm Eastern, an historic vote will take place in the House of Representatives. The GOP is forcing the Democrats to get their votes on record as to whether troops should be immediately withdrawn from Iraq. This afternoon, I made calls to the offices of Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, Majority Whip Roy Blunt, and Rules Chairman David Dreier. The discussion was regarding a quorum. Because the Republicans currently hold 231 seats in the House, they will have a quorum to do business. They need 218 to be present. If a quorum... |
Let's play "HARDBALL"
Murtha, a well-respected Vietnam veteran who voted for the Iraq war....
Republicans were seeking to force Democrats to stand with the respected 30-year congressman....
Murtha, a longtime hawk on foreign and military affairs issues....
A day after his comments, a U.S. field commander in Iraq countered the position of the usually pro-military congressman....
As a Vietnam veteran and top Democrat on the House Appropriations defense subcommittee with close ties to many military officers, Murtha carries more credibility with his colleagues on the issue than a number of other Democrats who have opposed the war from the start....
With a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts, Murtha retired from the Marine Corps reserves as a colonel in 1990 after 37 years as a Marine, only a few years longer than he's been in Congress. Elected in 1974, Murtha has become known as an authority on national security whose advice was sought out by Republican and Democratic administrations alike.
And of course:
Also a Vietnam veteran, Kerry...
But this article is better than others, at least they quote one GOP congressman and mention his military experience.
Fat Cat Murtha is a patriot all right. In true demo-rat fashion he had an airport named after him in his district in Pennsylvania. How come the rats love to name building after themselves while they are still living. The only thing patriotic about him is his ability to bring home the pork in the arena of defense contractor bacon. Let's see how he votes tonight. Ha! The rats are cornered. All they can do now is blabber.
