These guys are politiicans and they see that most voters are opposed to this war. It's proving to be as much an albatross for Bush as I warned before the invasion. The GOP doesn't want to lose the Senate and the House next year, so I'm not surprised if a number of them are saying that at some point the US has to bring the troops home.

hmmm...okay I'll play. What do you base "most voters are opposed to this war" on?

We appreciate your right to an opinion, churchillbuff, but you're dead wrong.

The troops willing be "coming home."--that is, there will be troop reductions before the 2006 elections. Albatross of not, it has had plenty of positive results. For one thing, it has shown that Iraq could be held together--a result that former administration "experts" did not expect. And the game is not over.

"Most voters" couldn't find their ass with both hands, but I suppose it's true that "we" get the government "we" deserve.

If that was the case, the House of Reps would show leadership. The Senate RINO's have a long history of cowering and pandering to the media. There is a group of Senators on the Republican side that are cowardly bedwetters, but that does not mean that they are doing the will of the people, they are doing the will of the 10:00 News.

I don't believe most Americans oppose the war in Iraq. I do believe many Americans are falling for MSM and Democrat spin and lies.

The troops have been in Iraq about 2.5 years. That is not terribly long. We need to establish a functioning democracy in Iraq, train more Iraqi police, kill Zarqawi, and then come home. If we leave now Iraq will probably fall into chaos and civil war.

Very short sighted. This has been the least costly, most visibly successful war we have fought in over 100 years. The American people aren't as stupid as the media and the politicians. We overwhelmingly support winning this war, and we won't accept a cowardly retreat under any circumstances.
