Would you please PM your address to me. I want to send you a spray can of bright red neon paint so you can paint a big red cross on your roof so when the terrorists hit the next time they'll know where you live and can use you as the first target.

You must be familiar with Churchill's statement in the opening of The Second World War, in which he says no war was more preventable than World War II. If the European democracies had stood up to Hitler in the 30's, when it would have been much easier to do so, World War II would have been prevented.

Does that not apply to this war? If we do not stand up to the Islamic extremists now, when they are few and weak, what will be the consequences later? Do we wait until they obtain access to nuclear weapons? Do we wait until their influence extends into Europe? And please don't depend on the Democrats, they won't fight for anything. Their idea of bravery is calling someone else a chickenhawk.

"They're more scared of the growing number of voters who think the continued, endless stream of US deaths in Iraq has to come to an end."

It will come to an end. When our guys finish the job there. Iraq has a new government, a new constitution, elected officials doing the will of the people. The US servicemen are doing a great job, and they have done more there in a shorter period of time than I could have imagened. But to people of your politcal stance in this, their deaths are just a politcal talking point to attack the President.

I compare what is there now, which may be Islamic in name, but is a republic in function. Given the choice between a republic which calls itself an Islamic state, and an Islamic state that calls itself a republic, then I'll choose the former. It's certainly a big improvement over Saddam. Furthermore, the strategic advantages of Iraq, especially in the direct leverage we can exert over several troublesome neighbors, are ours in reality. When you compare how we're doing in Iraq to how we did in previous conflicts, the situation looks very good.

When you can show me an official Iraqi state fatwa then I'll reconsider.

The troops have been in Iraq about 2.5 years. That is not terribly long. We need to establish a functioning democracy in Iraq, train more Iraqi police, kill Zarqawi, and then come home. If we leave now Iraq will probably fall into chaos and civil war.

This whole thing smells of weakness. I've had enough of these jackasses. I've always been a libertarian who tends vote Republican. I think I'm gonna start voting Libertarian and to hell with theaw RINOs....or maybe staying home on election day. I'VE HAD ENOUGH.

Hey Zarqawi, keep up the good work. The United States Senate is backing you more than the president.

Neither amendment calls for a timetable.

That's good.

many republican senators - are weak. when these same polls showed "support for the war" in the 70s, the Dems didn't care. they mounted a steady campaign of negative reporting and misinformation to take those numbers down, helped by the vacuum created by the administration's non-existent message as they were running around talking about SS reform at 54 speeches.

to turn this around, you have to turn the argument back on the liars - what would the Dems do over there? set a date for withdrawal? leave tommorrow?

let's be honest, alot of this is simply political posturing. we all know there will be troop withdrawals in 2006 - everyone is setting up for that - some want credit, others will spin it as "Bush is giving up", etc.

What are the first three Presidential Orders you would issue related to the Iraq war if you were to become the Commander in CHief tomorrow? I assume since you know all of the answers, and have all of the supporting polls, you have a solution to the problem. SO what are the three orders?

"Minority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) said at a press conference yesterday: “Staying the course is no longer an option.”"

The true nature of 'Rats and RINOs on display once again. We'd all like to be out of Iraq asap, but only when we have accomplished our national goals, not to meet some timetable of domestic 'Rat politics. It's 32 months since we went into Iraq, a long time to those who have had to fight over there, to be sure..... but imagine if 32 months into WWII we had faced this kind of domestic assault on our national resolve!?!! What if 32 months after Pearl Harbor (July 1944) we had faced such a concerted domestic campaign to sap our spirit and our will, to break our resolve to win a decisive victory?

flashback.... JULY 1944..... numerous leading Senators and Congresscritters (not to mention media figures) publicly question the course of the war, blast the administration endlessly over the conduct of the war, give Hitler and Tojo fervent new hopes that the USA will be rent asunder by domestic dissension, our elected "leaders" wonder why FDR and Marshall and Ike allowed Normandy to be such a "quagmire" (which it certainly was until Operation Cobra finally achieved a break-out in August '44).... etc. etc.

This wouldn't have happened during WWII, because we did not have such whiny weasels in so many prominent positions in Congress!!

Glad you posted. I, too, am so angry. I haven't been able to post a coherent message.

I worked hard to get GWB re-elected. I've never worked on a campaign before.

Why in the World would I vote for any of the Republicans who are supporting these amendments? Much less work for their campaigns? Not for their Senate seats nor for President. Why would I vote for someone who is going to vote against my interests? That would be like voting for the other party .....

Who do they think is going to vote for them?

Bush said "mission accomplished" more than two years ago.

The USS Lincoln, at the end of their successful combat deployment, put up a banner stating that their mission was accomplished.

It was.

You do know the difference between a "mission" and a "war", don't you.

The bombers crews of the Eighth Air Force were required to complete 25 "missions", not win 25 "wars", before they could go home.

Show us where George W. Bush ever said "mission accomplished".

You won't be able to because you lied when you claimed that he ever said that.

Bush said "mission accomplished" more than two years ago.

I defiy you to prove , provide a FACT, that our Commander in Chief EVER said, or wrote a comment, "Mission Accomplished."

In war, there are thousands of "missions." The United Stated Navy and Marine Corps were on A mission. These guys accomplished A mission.

The sailors and marines posted a banner on that aircraft carrier stating "mission accomplished;" as in THEIR single / multiple MISSION(s) were accomplished.

I'd suggest you might want to do your homework, sir; or return to DUmmyville.

(I don't know why I have to jouste with a mentally unarmed moron).
