"In 2001, Rick Rescorla was the 62-year-old head of security at the Morgan Stanley Bank. The bank's offices were situated high up in the South Tower at the World Trade Center. Rescorla was convinced that Osama Bin Laden would use jet planes to try and destroy the World Trade Center.
Long before September 11th, he developed an evacuation plan for the bank. The plan and its preparation were hugely unpopular with the Morgan Stanley staff, many of whom thought Rescorla was mad. Ultimately, however, the plan saved 3,000 lives. It was put into effect after the first jet hit the North Tower--even though WTC managers were instructing everyone to stay in the buildings. When the second jet hit the South Tower, Rescorla averted panic and organized a rapid evacuation. Rescorla went back inside to help the injured and trapped get out. He was still inside when the building collapsed and his body was never found."
Precisely!
Four sons to raise here. My constant theme is,
'Whatever you choose to do in life,
1: Be good at it
2: No, be the best there is at it
3: Be brave enough to do it right
Cheers,
Lloyd
You know who else predicted 9/11, with some specificity?
Saddam Hussein.

Apparently what you are good at is belittling a man whose foresight saved 3,000 lives and whose courage cost his own.
That's really something to be proud of...

One of the most intriguing people surrounding 9-11-01
I remember watching a film a couple of years ago that was made in '97 called "Paths to Paradise" - it was about the run up the '93 WTC bombing, and the botched attempt by police to apprehend the terrorists before the bombing.
Afterward the bombing, the police managed to apprehend all the bombers except one who managed to secure a helicopter ride out of America (the film stated on closing that he was later arrested overseas). One of the cops featured in the movie was referring to the impossibility to catch Islamic terrorists entering America, due to the shear volume of Muslim immigrants. The closing scene of the film showed the escaped terrorist flying past the WTC in the helicopter, with him stating "Next time, we will bring them both down." - it freaked me out how accurate the prediction proved!!!
It is quite amazing. I wonder, did they say anything about what made him think that Bin Laden will attack with airplanes?
What a terrible loss that he lost his life.>>>>>>>>>
Actually, I told a number of people that I expected it to happen, I was at work when the boss told me that something had struck one of the towers and I told him who was doing it. How did I know? I read about it on the internet! The whole plot was laid out, what I cannot answer is why I can't find it in the archives, it is as if it never was posted. I am not a raving nutcase, this was posted before the fact by someone who had connections into international intelligence sources.
I watched it last night and have the book about him. he was truly an awesome individual.
It was an excellent program. A fine tribute to a man who understood what we face and put those thoughts into action.
And it wasn't the NYPD that botched the investigation, it was the FBI, one of the most hapless federal investigatory agencies, which has been adrift ever since the death of Jay Edgar Hoover.
If I recall correctly, they were the ones who allowed Mr. Yassin to flee to Iraq after some initial questioning in the wake of the '93 bombing.
Why didn't Bush give Rescorela's wife a Medal of Freedom in her husband's name? What, he wasn't as worthy as that draft-evading Muslim anti-Semite loudmouth Cassius Clay?
''Why didn't Bush give Rescorla's wife a Medal of Freedom in her husband's name?''
Because the first question out of a reporter's mouth will be - ''Mr. President. If Mr. Rescorla knew an attack was coming, why didn't you?''
I saw it and will watch it a second time on my DVR. Tremendous program.
Thank you for the wonderful links.
So glad to know of this amazing man.
Thanks for the info!
