President Bush is making a speech at noon. Fox is reporting he will address the criticism aimed at him by the democrats in the past two weeks.
Mod note: Click here for transcript thread.
I wrote a speech for him:
"My fellow Americans, it's been five years since I first took office to serve you. It's time to lay down the law.
To my Republican colleagues in Congress-it's time to cut the crap. Let's stop acting like pansies and nuke these Dems out of filibustering every judicial nominee I send up. Stop acting like Democrats and cut spending, for real. And today I propose to scrap my guest worker program-I made a mistake. Let's deport the bastards and build an electric fence from just south of San Diego all the way to where the Rio Grande dumps into the Gulf of Mexico. Who wants fried tamales??
To the Democrats in Congress-shut up.
to the Media-shut up.
To Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan, and the rest-shut the hell up.
To the Military-thanks again. You're the one thing protecting our freedom. I propose 150% pay raises for all of you and the money will come right out of the Department of Education, which will be hereby demolished. It's a state/local issue anyway. I'm also instating shoot-to-kill orders on all suspected Al Quaeda members and French Muslims.
To North Korea and Iran-scrap the nuclear programs-NOW-or Pyongyang and Tehran will turn into smoldering piles of radioactive rubble.
To France-I told you so. Don't even think about asking us for help, you pricks."
Lets pray that Cowboy W comes out and not Workin Hard to Build Bridges W.
I wish he would address Ted Kennedy personally. Mr. Kennedy, you criticize the US Military for not being able to find binLaden in the maze of Afghanistan, while you were unable to find a phone in a lighted house 100 yards from you in 1969".
Too little, too late...
I think the Republicans have and will continue to blow it.
Amen!
I sincerely hope this is just the opening salvo. I want it to be brutal, and I want everybody in the administration, and the congressional "leadership" to get on the bandwagon as well. "This crap has gone on long enough" would be a great opening statement by the president.
He better have a barrel of whoopass with him.
"To France-I told you so. Don't even think about asking us for help, you pricks."
ROFLMAO!!
Will this be the live thread??
Is today, Veterans Day, the right day to answer political critics? I'd rather he focus on the veterans today and save the politics for another day.
Let's go out and honk our car horns after the speech if it's good.
I will be TV/Internet deprived and will have to miss it. I am very interested and hope he will say what NEEDS TO BE SAID.
Perhaps someone will post the transcript.
I'd rather read his speech, anyway. I love the guy, but it makes me nervous to watch him deliver a talk.
I think GWB has far vision, moral clarity, conviction, courage, and fortitude. But a good mass communicator, he is not.
One of his greatest accomplishments:
Lower income tax rates
Lower capital gains tax rates
Hey W--Kick some F-ing ass!!!!
Offense, Offense, offense.
I heard this on the radio this morning. The speech apparently will say, "Others concluded the same things about WMDs as I did with the same data. Therefore, I didn't lie."
It's the standard Hannity/Limbaugh argument.
I'd prefer he say, "There were WMDs, there were WMD recipes, and there were terrorists connected to al quada who Saddam could have used as delivery systems for small amounts of WMDs to places like the Rose Bowl or the NCAA B-Ball Finals."
That would be taking them on.
The Hannity/Limbaugh line is simply a "debating points" method of establishing moral equivalency.
It doesn't WIN the argument.
I wonder if he'll have anything to say about Terrell Owens' suspension? |
LOL!!
That is funny.
I'm looking forward to it. He has the truth on his side, I dearly hope he uses it.
