LONDON (Reuters) - Former Beatle Paul McCartney is to broadcast live into space from a U.S. concert to two astronauts circling the globe.
He will play "Good Day Sunshine" and one of his latest songs, "English Tea," to NASA astronaut Bill McArthur and Russian cosmonaut Valery Tokarev who are on an international space station 220 miles above the earth.
McCartney, who will be singing into space Saturday from Anaheim, California via NASA television, got the idea when he discovered that the crew of the spaceship Discovery were treated to a burst of "Good Day Sunshine" in August as a wake-up call from Mission Control.
"I was extremely proud to find out that one of my songs was played for the crew of Discovery this summer. In our concert we hope to repay the favor," he said in a statement.

Like Dennis Leary says, it`s the suck law of music. All the guys who are great get killed off while all the ones who suck go on forever.

Yoko Ono's "No, No, No" has been scientifically proven to be the worst song everOh dear Lord. I've never heard that song but am pretty sure I don't want to. :)
To: Cyclopean Squid
You know, I used to believe that Muskrat Love was the worse song ever written/recorded.
I've been persuaded.
Listening to Muskrat Love made me feel nauseous. Yoko's song is so ridiculous I couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Yoko's a true poetess. Her eloquence moves me deeply. Her lyrics capture the entire range of human emotions and compel us to experience them simultaneously and exponentially. Thanks for posting this. I will remember the words, and they will bring be the beacon in my darkest hour.

McArthur Park has my nomination for the absolute worst song ever recorded. Ah the cake left out in the rain.
"I don't think that I can take it"
"Cause it took so long to bake it"
"And I'll never have that recipe again"
"OOHH NOOO"
To: Revolting cat!
Much worse. The latter are at least tolerable.

For those who have never heard Yoko Ono "sing", here is one of her most famous songs "Don't worry Kyoko" written to her daughter from her previous marrige before she met John. It will strip the varnish off of your floor, kill all the bugs in your house, and repel pirates off the Horn of Africa if you turn up the sound.

Yoko's a true poetess. So, you would argue with John Denver above about the Mozart designation? You think Yoko is the Mozart?

Some Indians hung Harris from hooks in a tee-pee for singing that song.
"And let that be a lesson to you: act, don't sing."
