I'm so pissed off...conservatives talk a good game but then when it comes to action, if they have to get off their fat asses, forget it. Any California Freeper who didn't vote should be shunned. I'm just shocked to read that. When I lived in California I was the first in line to vote on any given election day. Think about it, there are people here who didn't even vote in the special election and it was such an important one for Republicans. I find that mind boggling and so sad for the future of the West coast and the whole country.

No argument there. Hell, last night I had to spend about an hour looking for my polling place. It had been changed since the last election a year ago and was tucked away in some small, unmarked place. The wife and I drove past it three times and couldn't find it.

Finally we ended up parking and walked up and down the street to try to locate the voting place. We lucked out only because I happened to remember the numbers of the street address listed on the lavoter.net web site.

When we walked up to the building, there were no signs that typically indicate the site is a polling place. None. Not even balloons tied to a lamppost like they usually do. Hell, we didn't see any signs at all that it was a polling place until we were inside the building.

I only half-joked to the poll workers that I considered myself "almost disenfranchised" by the obvious obstacles to voting in this special election.

I have not agreed with you before Hildy. Your views regarding Terri Schindler are so opposite of mine. On this issue though I am in complete agreement with you. I know many people who did not vote yesterday and I can't believe it. It was an important election for us conservatives. Even in my typically conservative county none of the propositions passed. I naively thought there was a sliver of hope for California, but I was wrong.

Mind boggling, and disturbing. Sitting on your hands doesn't change a thing as much as we would like it to be so. This is truly depressing.

Worth repeating.

I Agree. I am stunned to read that a few Freepers did not vote. What lazy, cowards.

THey will never be taken seriously by me again.

I was wondering if those 500,000 vote margins were largely due to people leaving the state for NV and AZ the past few years....

But you have to be honest with yourself....it isnt going to swing back in the other direction.
