What is your problem son?

You can't even get that right. A woman pushing 60
is not a son.
If bashing California makes you and the others doing
the same feel good, then you better look at yourselves
and see what is lacking in you.
CA has two bad senators but we know where they are
coming from. But you have McLame and he is a loose cannon
to say they least.

"If bashing California makes you and the others doing the same feel good, then you better look at yourselves and see what is lacking in you."

OK lady, I'm not bashing California. I'm just expressing my opinion about the state, and all I said about Cal was that I don't like the crazy liberal politics that have taken over.

It does not make me "feel good" to say something negative about California. It is a great state and has many terrific qualities, attractions, geography, and many wonderful people. I know because I lived there for 34 years.

As for your amateur psychologist routine where you said "you better look at yourselves and see what is lacking in you,"....that is just comical. I have no complex about anything lacking in me and you are not qualified or informed enough to make any kind of statement like that. It's these kinds of unjustified personal attacks that detract from the discussion here at FR.

Just for the record, I do not like McCain and I'm not a McCain supporter. I would like to see him retire so we can elect a true conservative here.

Now, let me ask you. Why do you feel the need to attack people personally on this website? I am not a psychologist so I will not speculate about your motives.

As a former Californian of longstanding, what took place in CA last night looks far more different from where I am now, than it would and did when I was in CA. I am somber, commisserating with my fellow CA pals over the results of last night. I know ***exactly*** what it feels like.

Again, from far away, the resonance is different.

Casting off my CA commisseration? Here's how it looks to me.

Unions are bad for any state's economy. Dittos, planned parenthood. The unions and their allies PROVED Arnolds assertions about those groups.

His inits lost. But Arnold didn't lie: Everything he said, and why he thought these inits were important were proved, last night.

CA, this morning, resembles the bullying power of "special interests" in France.

However, none of this is helpful to you who remain in CA, fighting the good fight. Any bitterness over last nights results' is entirely understandable.

People in the other states, generally, and genuinely have NO idea how "life" really plays in CA. They love to visit. Find it beautiful. They've no idea of the reality of living in a socialist-dominated state.

Yes, parental notification init loss, was a stunner; and very revealing.

Minor's Pregnancy will win. The Mexicans don't want their babies killed.

I had no idea the Latinos were as stupid as the Blacks when it comes to killing off your own race. Of course, stupid are also all those who stayed home and did not vote to protect Life.

May God have mercy on this Land. On second thought, maybe God should save his mercy for a people who deserve it.

According to the CDC's "Abortion Surveillance" California does not report abortion statistics.

Nationally about 5000 reported abortions for teens 15 and under take place.

Here's the 2001 CDC survey released late Nov 2004.

The heavily Latino "Imperial County" was 66% YES on Prop 73.

The real cause of the losses amounted to your second point: "Of course, stupid are also all those who stayed home and did not vote..."

These folks just didn't feel fired up about anything positive and were turned off by the negative ads. So, the union goons were able to mobilize their forces to defeat those of us who did vote for the reforms.

As of this hour's results, San Fran voted most strongly against Prop 73 with 80% NO.

Just a second for my 'California' story: I grew up in liberal Northern Virginia but lived in San Francisco from 1974-1979. At the time I was in by 20's and moderately liberal. (One of my friendly acquaintances was Harvey Milk, the gay city councilmen who was assassinated at city hall, but that happened after I left.) However, even back then, I thought there were way too many 'space cadets' than normal. All I can say is the Haight-Ashbury mindset didn't disappear, it just oozed all over the city and then then throughout the metropolitan area. San Francisco has never recovered it's former self.

Someone in the RP who is truly serious needs to sit down and get some strategery going. It might even have to be an outsider, 'cause frankly, the insiders appear completely clueless.

Yup. I think it's going to be "up to us" if you want to know my opinion. The CA GOP is in disarray and Arnold's group of ex-Wilson hacks are doing him no favors. Mr. Murphy, the chief political strategist, was on KFI last night and came across as a buffoon.

If you have any good ideas, freepmail me.

Too bad the reforms failed. Arnold is wasting his time as governor.

The next time I hear some idiot in this state bitching and moaning about the lousy government we have in this state, I'm going to tell him that he got the government he deserved on November 8th, 2005, and f*** him very much.

If I were Arnold, I would've resigned last night, and I would've told the people of California to go f*** themselves.

I think he should resign, too. Really, there's no reason for him to try to save Kahleefornya. He tried and he deserves respect, but he can't do it alone.

Nodding head in agreement, here. I knew San Francisco when it was, without question, to me, the most beautiful city in the world. I loved it with a passion. And witnessed its incremental decline into the sewer. An angry, hateful, dirty place. People so paranoid and bizarre. Last time I was in the Sunset? There was this guy, like making verbal love, to a dog tied to a tree. BRRR. A woman walking by in S&M garb with one breast peeking through a "style rip" in her shirt. The Sunset and Richmond districts used to be quite clean and sane.

Believe or no, I found the Haight to be the funnest place to visit in the late 70s/early 80s! In the late 70s, I can recall hoppin a cab or bus downtown Financial District, and it was so fun, and so safe.

"Rockin' Robbin" was one of my regular haunts in the Haight. But the Financial District and SOM, was already getting dangerous.

Put another way, the "bike messengers" didn't "rule" the streets back then.

The ooze, you describe, spread outward.. to the counties nearby.

Everything, absolutely everything in the SF Bay Area is now "political". Every aspect. Name it.

Makes me think of that scene in the flick "GHOSTBUSTERS" wherein Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver enter her apartment and ectoplasmic goo is dripping everywhere...

The election results in San Francisco and California clearly show that the future holds in store for us.  Finally, so many people's incomes, power bases, unions, organizations and businesses are supported either directly by government money, or by way of legal directives and government regulations, that they dare not jeopardize their livelihoods and income security by returning responsibility and freedom back to the populace.

We have finally gone over the hill and it is too late to ever go back.  There is simply too many on the dole (existing on government regulations and income) now.  They outnumber us and there is no way to ever change them.

The decay of America's morals is directly tied to all aspects of our legal and legislative system.  The head on the fish has rotted and now progressed into it's body cavity.
