Okay; I think I answered my own question. Kurdistan is a region in Iraq, so these are Iraqis too (?), but still not clear as to why it's the "other" Iraq. Hmmmm. I really liked the ads, though.
The Kurds resent that. There are many different regions in Iraq that are peaceful and moving forward (including Southern Iraq). And the violence you hear about is limited to pockets in the country.
Thus, they want people to know there's an Iraq you don't hear about from CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, etc...
Nice ads, but are they a prelude to separation? The other Iraq? Fall in love with a warm message then we're hook to feel for them when they separate. I hope not but makes me wonder.
I think they are the "other" Iraq that is fairly quiet and normal. The lamestream media is only interested in Kurdistan when a car bomb goes off in Kirkuk or Mosul.
I don't know all the answers to your questions, but I do know this group of people (the Kurds) were expressly hated by Saddam. He used poison gas on them and killed thousands of them in one day.
