I hope Libby's lawyers put Plame and Wilson under oath. It really is time the American people learn the truth about these two scum bags.

Wonder if Joe is scared? Sweating profusely no doubt....

Why should he be scared? He has the entire looney lefties, the Rats, and the whole of the MSM on his side - I wouldn't be scared because the MSM alone can destroy anyone it wants to.

> Even so, an outing is an outing, whether published or not. Seems to me.

Of course... Libby didn't publish her name either, but he's being accused of outing her.

To win a libel or slander suit, don't you have to prove that someone knowingly lied about you?

It would be libel because it was a public statement in the media. Mrs. Suhks is the attorney in the house so I'm kinda a buff. On her advice and as I stated before, it depends on whether Wilson is a public or governmental figure...I think he meets the burden for both.

In that case intentional malice needs to be proven and all we have is Wilson's word against the Generals'. Very hard to prove.

I mean, Kristof could've passed Plame's name along to an enemy --say, Iran or North Korea,

Say Judith Miller.

If there was a way to get rid of Fitzgerald the Chicago political machine would have figured it out by now. He's been tormenting them for some time now. Also former Gov Ryan (R).

I think this is also noteworthy because it shows that in the midst of the Aldrich Ames incident and the disclosing of CIA operations and agents, Valerie Plame admitted to Wilson that she was covert during a recreational sex encounter while he was married and could quite possibly have had ulterior motives himself.

But, but, but .... It was only sex. And everybody lies about sex.

/democrat excuses for politicians lying. (Before and after and during a trial.)

I couldn't agree with this more. How else did the Plame's entire neighborhood know.

didn't you know? the press found A neighbor who didn't know she was in the cia. therefore she was "outed."

"... issue of whether Plame's outing was a crime, was determined quickly - it wasn't. at that point, the GJ should have been closed down."

Preeee-cisely. So, when did Fitzy know that? Pretty early on, I would bet. This definitely marks him as a dirty player, IMHO.

Anyone can sue about anything. The charge would be "Libel", but I am saying to win that suit, you would have to prove that a lie was told, not just that someone said something about you that you didn't like even though factually correct. With Wilson, he has a pattern of telling lies, and then when someone calls him on any of it, he shouts from the rooftops like a stuck pig. He was not a public figure or a govt. official until he wrote the NY Times op-ed piece blasting the Bush Administration and accusing Bush of lying to America. That is when all gloves needed to come off to show Wilson for lying bastard that he is. I hope that happens very soon. I will celebrate when it does.

the chicago political machine has no jurisdiction over Fitzgerald - the issue is, does Albert Gonzales have any?

You've asked twice how Fitz can be fired. See "Saturday Night Massacre" link below.
Ultimately the prosecutorial power of the US is vested in the Attorney General of the executive branch. Nixon got rid of Archibald Cox by ordering the AG to fire him. AG Elliott Richardson refused and quit, next in line William Ruckelshaus refused and quit. This elevated Solicitor General Robert Bork to "AG" and he did the deed [His latest accomplishment: helping to "bork" Harriet Miers].
Of course all heck broke loose. When Comey stepped down in this case (Fitz's buddy) many thought Fitz's new overseer at Justice would draw a tighter leash. Maybe he did vis-a-vis Rove (i.e."Leave Him alone").
