France reacts to 'shockwave of riots'(Paris/France burns Live Thread Night #12)

French police made 395 arrests last night as riots intensified for the 11th consecutive night, with violence and fire engulfing towns from the North to the Mediterranean.

In the impoverished suburbs and satellite towns around Paris, where the unrest began on October 27, churches, schools and warehouses were set alight. At least 1,408 vehicles were destroyed, many more than on previous nights, and the random attacks have spread into the heart of the city.

In Grigny, south of the capital, a gang of around 200 youths are reported to have lured police into a housing estate before opening fire with hunting rifles. At least 30 officers were injured, two seriously with lead pellets in the legs and neck.

Riots broke out in beacons of disaffection across the country from Lille, on the border with Belgium, to Montpellier on the Mediterranean coast. In Toulouse, police used tear gas to disperse a mob. Cars were set alight on the streets of Nantes, Orleans, Rennes and Rouen, and youths in St Etienne forced passengers off a bus before burning it. Churches were set ablaze in northern Lens and southern Sete.

In Strasbourg, youths stole a car and rammed it into a housing project, setting the vehicle and the building on fire. "We’ll stop when Sarkozy steps down," the defiant 17-year-old driver told an Associated Press reporter.

Police are calling for a night-time curfew in affected areas and some senior officers have demanded that troops are brought on to the streets.

Michel Gaudin, France's most senior police officer, said today: "We are witnessing a sort of shock wave that is spreading across the country."

He's a law-and-order Minister of the Interior, largely pro-America and pro-NATO.

It makes people wonder if he's really French at all.

I wanted the French to get thumped for betraying us these last few years, ....

No one is enjoying this, however it would have been nice many years ago if France had supported the war on terror and accepted the reality of this. They have since (actually always in modern times) appeased and now are seeing the fruits of their ineptness.

Prediction: Just when you thought the capitulation was over, the failed socialist regime will find an even deeper capacity for capitulation.

"If we start shooting them, outside groups will start smuggling them weapons and then we're all screwed."

How so? They might be temporarily "screwed" with a shoot-to-kill response but Frenchmen still have the numbers to clean up their country. Better to suffer a bit when a solution is still possible.

Hummmm....why would these "poor, disaffected youths" be burning down CHRISTIAN churches? Inquiring minds want to know...but the press doesn't.

And no mosque's are being burned down. Also on Saturday night an incindiary device was thrown at a Synagogue in France.

The press is clueless.

They are not clueless, they are COLLABORATORS!!! They are under some illusion that when the muslims take over the world, they will still have press passes and and their sacred 1st Amendment. Hopefully, we will see the results of the fall of France, once again. We will then be able to see the journalists, Socialists and other Leftists being the first to be collected and beheaded. Now THAT, would be justice.

This should be an incentive for those of good will to organize to prevent this from happening here.

Fighting without the French is like hunting without an accordion player.

Thank God they are not on our side.

On the wall you can read “Nique La Police”, and "Nique" is an Arabic word but they wrote it in Latin Alphabet. “Nique” means “F***”. They are saying “F*** the police”.

Ok - I have a hypothetical question about all of this. Suppose the Nazis were to re-invade France today. Would the French surrender to ...

A) The Nazis (citing historical precedent).
B) The rioters (they were there first).
C) Both at the same time.
D) French rioters would first surrender to the Nazis; non-French rioters would collaborate with the Nazis, forming a larger super-group to which the rest of the country could then surrender.

Might be a long shot, but my guess is that terror funding has already begun, guns included. Can't you hear the cries: Let's go to France and keep things stirred up...then Germany and so on!

"If we start shooting them, outside groups will start smuggling them weapons and then we're all screwed."

Point of order. If there is anyone left to whom weapons can be smuggled, they you aren't shooting them properly or sufficiently.
