The parents of a US solider missing in Iraq will meet with officials at the Pentagon.

Army Reserve Sergeant Keith Maupin of Batavia, Ohio, has been missing since April 9, 2004, when his fuel-truck convoy was ambushed. He is the only soldier the Army lists as captured.

Carolyn and Keith Maupin will talk to senior officials at the Pentagon and have a video conference with commanders in Iraq.

Last June, Al-Jazeera released a tape claiming to show a US soldier being shot to death. But the tape was dark and grainy, and the Army says it hasn't determined if the man was Sergeant Maupin.

My local news stations reported this as some Cindy Sheehan type of thing when from what I gathered, is just a meeting to determine the latest as well as raising awareness.

They are Bush supporters if I remember correctly.

They are Bush supporters, and they have been more than gracious in terms of support for our President. They have brought awareness to their son, but in terms of Sheehan....they are a cut above.

Prayers for them. I wonder if something has been learned about their son's fate?

Matt bump. I would like to extend a prayer for Matt and his family through the holidays. As a mother it would be heartbreaking to not know where your son was or if he was still alive. He went missing fighting for our country. Lets get behind this soldier and his family and let them know he is not forgotten. I am going to post for Matt until 11/18. I will be going out of town and wont have a internet connection until 12/9. I am going to start a new thread under the prayer and local Ohio news section. Please keep the thread alive. The holidays are going to be hard for this family. If anyone knows the family or would like to send a message to the family please post a link. Thank you!

Praying here for Matt also. However, the clear message that the troops must learn first thing on hitting the ground in Iraq or Afghanistan: Dont get captured under ANY circumstances. Resist at ALL costs. I would rather die in battle or even shoot myself than be subjected to what they would do if they captured me.
