Paris-Area Riots Spread To 20 Towns(Update)

AULNAY-SOUS-BOIS, France -- A week of riots in poor neighborhoods outside Paris gained dangerous new momentum Thursday, with youths shooting at police and firefighters and attacking trains and symbols of the French state.

Facing mounting criticism, Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin vowed to restore order as the violence that erupted Oct. 27 spread to at least 20 towns, highlighting the frustration simmering in housing projects that are home to many North African immigrants.

Police deployed for a feared eighth night of clashes, after bands of youths lobbing stones and petrol bombs ignored President Jacques Chirac's appeal for calm a day earlier.

"I will not accept organized gangs making the law in some neighborhoods. I will not accept having crime networks and drug trafficking profiting from disorder," Villepin said at the Senate in between emergency meetings called over the riots.

The unrest cast a cloud over the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month. In Clichy-sous-Bois _ heart of the rioting _ men filled the Bilal mosque for evening prayers, but streets were subdued with shops shutting early.

It's a very strange co-habitation. France is a very liberal, sexually free nation where anything goes! Homosexuality, prostitution, and rampant, unexplained sex scenes in so-called intellectual avant garde films. Muslims are just the opposite yet France takes them in. How stupid can a country be not to see the outcome and it's going to get worse when you harbor people who disapprove of you and think your lifestyle is an abomination. Keep it up France.

BTW the quote is:
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.

This rocks. Now the folks need to head to Paris itself.

There is a big problem with the poor and immigration in France, a problem that has not been addressed.

Well, now they are getting their just desserts for ignoring it.

Burn down the Eiffel Tower.

It is simply incredible the French police can't get a handle on a little rioting. And now it has spread to 20 towns because they are so pathetic.

What the French fail to realize is they already are in the hands of the Islamic fascist.

The revolution is already started and the French will surrender as usual. Appeasement will only prolong the time frame, but the French will fall into an Sharia state.

Much as I hate to say it, I'm praying for France. If these people are allowed to set up semi-autonomous enclaves in France they will export terror all over Europe. I hope the French come to their senses and take the fight to the Islamofacists in their country.

I'm with ya, as much as we like to pick on the French and there are times they deserve it, but we do need to stand beside them as Western Brothers and urge them to make the right decisions to battle this. Actually it has been festering a long time over there, in the beginning, they should have never left the mooselimbs into France but that is in the past now. I just hope we don't have that over here.

I don't really view it as a religious thing, but as a social class thing. The people in these areas may be Muslims, but I believe it is their poverty and general stigmatism by the government that is fueling this anger, not their religion (though it certainly isn't helping).

Didn's Savage indicate what was happening in Europe was the equivalent of the third Crusades? or did I dream it in one of his history lessons?

The French may be awful people but they produce some fantastic fluids.

As evidenced by their soaked trousers and the growing pool of yellow piddle at their feet. Fantastico Maurice! :-)

Maybe this could be called the 3rd Intifada since France is directly responsible for the 2nd, serves them right. I wonder if many French Government officials will still insist that Islam is the "religion of peace" and these people are "freedom fighters"? They just don't have much self preservation instinct.
Haven't we heard from these dimwits that we should have GUN laws like the EU so these things cant happen. bet much of the law abiding population is wishing that they had access to weaponry. ahh I am sure the police will be able to save everyone. WHITE FLAG anyone.

The battle in which Charles "the hammer" martel beat the moors was in 732. The Muslims were in Central Europe before the Germans were completely Christianized. Interesting that Delay is also the hammer.

I don't really view it as a religious thing, but as a social class thing.

That is a western civilization cultural thought process. It is extremely dangerous to assume they think the same way we think.

These are north African Muslims and they don't think like we do.

Believe me, this is all about religion, Islamic religion. There is no defining line in their minds between religious and social.

I work very closely with one and it has been a serious eye opener. Everything has a fundamental underpinning of Islam

Yep. Quotes from the miscreants in earlier articles spoke of "this is a Muslim area, not French" and of the "prophet". Also, the riots are being coordinated thrugh radical Islamist websites, or so I read on one thread (no links.) We gotta whole lotta Imam educated "scum" partaking in this and they have tasted some success.

On a lighter note, it is called "Le Quijad" by the natives. (credit to FR's Flyer).....

I agree. Let us not forget that our press is left leaning, so the European press must be off the dial to the left ,right. There are many European folks that are with us but cannot be heard for the wailings of the commie press in EU. Their votes are silenced by the massive influx of socially dependent immigrants and enlarging suburbs. These are decent God fearing people working on farms and schools in the French country side which is quite large. Just like here in the US the cities are predominantly left voters and lower income dependent upon social programs and therefore tied to candidates that are in favor of those programs. I do not want us to neglect those good people for the others. I see France kind of like a family member that went bad. We still love them even when we may not like them. An if someone attacks them. . .Katy bar the door.
