Longtime CBS Evening News anchorman Dan Rather on Tuesday called for a return to independent journalism, telling viewers to be critical of the plethora of "new" media outlets that feign objectivity while working to advance their own - or another's - agenda.
"You need to ask yourself: Is more better, and is all that calls itself news really news," Rather told the estimated 1,400 people who filled the Maine Center for the Arts near capacity for his morning speech on the University of Maine campus. "News is something people need to know which someone, somewhere, doesn't want them to know. All the rest is advertising."

How, Gunga Dan, can anyone find a shread of objectivity when the producer thinks that the report was a success. Without an expected outcome, one cannot define success or failure, therefore what was the expected outcome? Could there be an agenda? (sound of crickets)
ROTFLMAO!
I can't stop laughing! That was TOOOOOOOOOO funny!!
Thanks,
Sailorman :)
LOL, PER-fect! You've posted some nice graphics on this thread, if I may say so. :o)
Hey, he does get it. What he doesn't get is that he, and his cohorts in the criminal media, are the "someone, somewhere" who don't want the people to know what they need to know.

Or the Buckheads?

And Dan Rather, we take it, claims to have upheld "objectivity" and was not
working to advance some agenda?
Excuse me while I pause to laugh...
Man, if anyone should know something about "feigning objectivity", it is Dan Blather. Even in the light of being caught with his partisan, leftist, anti-American pants down, he continued to "feign objectivity".
OK, she looks cute in the photo...
Now who IS she?
Columbo is good.
It is fun to make fun of Dan Rather. He makes himself a very easy target.
I believe she is the reporter who was in a canoe reporting on flooded streets from a recent storm when a couple of the locals walked by her with water up to their ankles. :-)

Danny boy, there was never independent jounalism until now. The MSM, as the DNC's puppets and neo-liberal activist groups killed this nation. Now the bloggers and "new media" are taking this country back.
Live with it you putz.
Thank you.
"News is something people need to know which someone ,somewhere doesn't want them to know."
And that is EXACTLY why people are turning from the MSM. What I need to know is NOT reported or buried under fertilizer from the left on what they WANT me need to know.
According to the definition given by Blather, the MSM does not report news.
All us See B.S.er's when our lying chores is done
We sits around our T.V. sets and has the mostest fun
Alistenin' to the wildest tales that Dan tells about
And the Freepers, they'll a-getcha if you don't watch out!
Wunst they wuz a little girl who made the biggest fuss--
Showing off some memos and stirrin' up the dust
Her Director heerd her holler, the Cameraman heerd her call,
An' when they turn't the lens around, she wuzn't there at all!
An' they seeked her in the Kinkos room, an' Starbucks, an' chez Pierre,
An' seeked her up the Russian Tea Room, an' just about ever'-where,;
But all they ever found wuz her Blackberry roundabout:--
An' Buckhead he'll git you
Ef you

THAT picture is to me is ONE representation of the Clinton Administration. See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil....as evil was planning its attack on the US. Despicable.
They were, are, and will be despicable.
Remember the Ron Brown Funeral where Clinton found a camera watching him. He changed from joking to crying right before your eyes. Amazing.
