Sinclair boycott call falling on deaf ears

A call by some Democrats to boycott companies that advertise on television stations owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group of Hunt Valley appears to have had little effect in Baltimore County.

Democrats want to block the planned airing on 60 stations around the country later this week of an anti- John Kerry documentary called "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal."

Sinclair did not return calls Oct. 15 about whether the documentary will run on one or both of Sinclair's local stations, which include WBFF (Fox 45) and WNUV (WB 54) in Baltimore.

The Boycott Sinclair Web site, which is linked to the Democratic National Committee Web site, encourages visitors to call Sinclair stations, boycott the advertisers and sign a petition to protest the show.

"It's a free, hourlong attack ad to be broadcast to 25 percent of American households," said Ryan O'Doherty, director of communications and research for the Maryland Democratic party.

Aren't there any intellectually honest Democrat voters who see this unending pattern of manipulation simply for victory's sake, lack of issue stances, lack of leadership, and lack of consistency or sincerity in their stated positions (disavowing successful blacks simply because they are disagree with the Dem talking points, turning their backs on rape victims for Clinton, etc)? How do they not run from that party in droves? How sad.

There are two things keeping them afloat:

1. Vast legions of old-timers who still see the Democratic Party as being pretty much the same as it was when Harry Truman was president and dismiss the modern excesses as aberrations of the fringe element and

2. The New Breed of kids who have been steeped in leftist indoctrination all through their years in public school and believe what they're told, uncritically.

The common elements are a willingness to be led, and an unwillingness to take a hard look at what you are standing for.

We get intellectually honest Dems crossing over and showing up here as new Freepers pretty frequently.

Sure hope some folks get a clue that we do have trolls on here from the RATs and when they see someone posting that advocates dirty tricks against the Dems, better take a second look and then look again.

This bears repeating. I didn't really realize the extent of the whole troll situation until this last year, right around Terri Schiavo.

This is not like a typical message board that discusses music or whatever. The stakes are much, much higher.
