The current eight democratic memebers of the Senate Judiciary Committee include 4 "Catholics" (Biden, Kennedy, Leahy and Durbin) and 4 Jews (Schumer, Feinstein, Feingold, and Kohl). Only one democratic member is a woman. Not very diverse.
The Supreme court on the other hand (assuming Alito is confirmed) will have 5 Catholics, 2 Jews, an Episcopalian, and a nonsectarian Protestant. It will also have one woman.
Sweet.
you could have fooled me on leahy, durbin, kennedy and biden. anyone recall seeing go into or come out of a church (in a non election year) not involving a funeral (Mary Jo), a wedding or a fundraiser?
Good observation. Thanks for posting this info.
Feinstein is not Jewish, her husband is.

Lists her here as Jewish. You have another source?
Love it. BUMP!
Kennedy is Catholic in name only, If the Church believed what they teach he would have been excommunicated years ago, I suppose its the checks that keep it from happening.
Kennedy only shows up to finish off the communion wine....hic!
Souter or Ginsberg?
No Blacks.
And how many of these wise guys actually practice their religion according to the tenets of their supposed "faith"? When is the last time you saw Kennedy coming out of a church on the TV news?
The Supreme court also has a black member who at the time of his appouintment was an Evangelical Christian. The Dems on the Judiciary committee are all white...shame, shame , shame.
Perhaps he has been but it is being kept quiet like his other shortcomings.
LOL
Given that we are all unique individuals, I am not sure how any group can be more diverse than any other.
her husband is Jewish and her father was. Unfortunately the parent that matters is the mother , and hers was not Jewish.
