I guess it all depends on what one is referencing, when they describe it as terrifying....
No one would call me a "girly man" to my face, and I will admit to SEVERAL instances of being terrified to the point I could hear my own heart throbbing so loudly in my ears I was afraid the wrong folks could hear it...

________Exactly! I have a bitter-end Liberal BIL, who YEARS ago,told me he was "terrified" about the Michigan Militia, and what they could do to America. I could only chuckle and shake my head. And this guy is the chair of the English Dept. at a midwestern university! But, really, it is essential that they get very good at ACTING and PRETENDING to be terrified at these nonexistent threats, and that entirely bogus and counterfeit trait and talent is the sole property of just about everyone on the American Left. Next time you listen to Sharpton,Jackson, Rangel, Schumer, Nadler, Boxer,Pelosi, et. al. think of it as AN ACT, a LEARNED RHETORIC.
