Woodward: Only Minimal Damage from Plame's Outing
Larry King Live ^ | October 27, 2005 | Larry King Live

WOODWARD: I think one of the things that's fact that hasn't come out is we talk about...

KING: Uh-oh, here it comes!

WOODWARD: No, no. And this is not even a firecracker, but it's true. They did a damage assessment within the CIA, looking at what this did that Joe Wilson's wife was outed. And turned out it was quite minimal damage. They did not have to pull anyone out undercover abroad. They didn't have to resettle anyone. There was no physical danger to anyone and there was just some embarrassment.

So people have kind of compared -- somebody was saying this was Aldridge James or Bob Hanson, big spies. This didn't cause damage.

Whatever one may say of Bob Woodward, he has excellent sources

Even if he has to make them up.

Remember when this first started?

Woodward said it is much ado about nothing and as much as warned his colleagues not to go there. I seem to remember he said they (MSM) may regret following this non-story.

That Woodward has been absent from the stage of pundits is telling. If he thought he could do "Deep Throat II, The Sequel" he would in a heartbeat.

If what he said about the CIA assessment is true, the elephant in the middle of the room is asking why did the CIA ask for an investigation? I read a few days ago (and cannot find the quote) this request was not a matter of routine, but something the CIA did outside of the normal routine. I cannot verify that statement. If true, this gets more and more sinister.

I have been somewhat surprised with Boies. When he has been on these shows, his opnions seem to be somewhat conservative. It may not reflect his political leanings, but his view of the law.

i.e. It is what it is, you either break it or not, but you do not become creative with it just to charge someone with something.

I like this quote:

The former Ambassador, either by design or through ignorance, gave the American people and, for that matter, the world a version of events that was inaccurate, unsubstantiated, and misleading. Surely, the Senate Intelligence Committee, which has unique access to all of the facts, should have been able to agree on a conclusion that would correct the public record. Unfortunately, we were unable to do so.

He tried to give it to Dodd but Dodd wouldn't take it!

Because then Dodd would have to comment on it

Out of sight .. Out of mind

Snort. The CIA didn't need to do a damage assessment. She wasn't covert.

In fact, most of the analysts at the CIA said that Wilson's findings when he went to Niger supported the conclusion that there was some deal with Iraq.
"his report was very ambiguous.

That's one of the reasons he did not "write" a report. He could always "restate" what he meant & change his story, as he has done so often. Remember Satan's lies contain some truth, intertwined with lies.

You know why they "couldn't agree." Pat Roberts himself said that the Democrats absolutely refused to consider it.

Didn't someone say that Aldrich had already outed her to the enemy?

That affidavit claimed that Miller was already publicly known to be a CIA employee.

Miller ?

Can you believe me and Woodward on the same side of the Valerie Plame "outing" non-story?

Dodd=former Bianca Jagger Sex Partner, Friend of the Sandinistas, Son of the Biggest Damned Crook (next to Al Gore, Sr) to ever sit in the Senate, Ted Kennedy's Drinking and Wenching Buddy, and my runner up for all-around Clymer of the Year.

If there were a God, She would Duct-Tape this pompous jackass to Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, and Dick Durbin and toss the lot of'em out of a helicopter over Long Island Sound.

The fact that Connecticut elects this creep proves that in Boston they eat beans, and that in Connecticut, they live on the Sound.
