WOODWARD: I think one of the things that's fact that hasn't come out is we talk about...
KING: Uh-oh, here it comes!
WOODWARD: No, no. And this is not even a firecracker, but it's true. They did a damage assessment within the CIA, looking at what this did that Joe Wilson's wife was outed. And turned out it was quite minimal damage. They did not have to pull anyone out undercover abroad. They didn't have to resettle anyone. There was no physical danger to anyone and there was just some embarrassment.
So people have kind of compared -- somebody was saying this was Aldridge James or Bob Hanson, big spies. This didn't cause damage.

Much to Senator Chris Dodd's consternation on Thursday's Larry King Live on CNN, Washington Post Assistant Managing Editor Bob Woodward, of Watergate fame, pointed out a fact rarely mentioned by the mainstream media -- that most of the analysts at the CIA said that [Joseph] Wilson's findings, when he went to Niger, supported the conclusion that there was some deal with Iraq for uranium. When Dodd started to counter Woodward, Woodward asserted that Democrats and the Republicans all signed that report. That is a fact. Woodward revealed that he had the report in his pocketand when King asked why, Woodward answered "Yes I do because I knew I might be challenged."
This is a typical liberal liberty with the truth.
It wasn't "minimal" damage, it was zero (as I infer from various radio accounts).
There is, of course, a very large difference between the two.
.
I thought so as well.
OMG. Can't wait to see the rerun in 15 minutes.

You did not note the paper that Woodward pulled at that made Dodd look like an idiot.
Wow, that's important info-- the public hears that and the whole thing evaporates... no one got whacked.... nobody even had to leave their foreign assignment... it was essentially a non-event. Next.
Given an indictment of Libby or Rove, there would be absolutely no need for either Plame or Wilson to testify.
Neither would have evidence material to a charge of perjury or obstruction.
What would Plame know, for example, about what Libby heard from Cheney or told Miller? What could Wilson contribute regarding an exchange between Rove and Cooper?
There is, of course, a very large difference between the two.
But the CIA was embarrassed -- which, in their minds, constitutes "a very large difference".
Here is what I found in the transcript and it does not finish Isikoffs sentence. ISIKOFF: I think Fitzgerald's going to announce something tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow afternoon, yes.
KING: Not in the morning?
ISIKOFF: Yes, afternoon. And he'll do it himself. You know...
See, it ends with .....so something came after that? Who could it be at the State Dept. ? Karen
Woodward should talk to Larry Johnson. Johnson thinks the outing of Plame was the worst security disaster in history.
"David Boies is a damn good lawyer."
I wish he could fill me in on how you commit perjury when there is no crime at issue.
"Larry, Izzy & especially Dodd were not pleased when Woodward did not pile on Rive & Libby!"
That's because Larry, Izzy and Dodd are making their living trashing Republicans.
Shall do my FRiend.
That's funny.
"excellent sources"
Oh yeah! Woodward doesn't even know she wasn't covert! NOBODY WAS OUTED!! And I'm sick of this media who will not acknowledge the truth about it.
Holy cow. Game over.
Read this
He's on Larry King Live right now!
I'll post this from another thread:
On Larry King Live, Bob Woodward just gave a seminiar on the facts of this case, much to the displeasure of Chris Dodd.
When Woodward brought up the Senate Intelligence report that said Wilson lied, Dodd tried to say it didn't say what Woodward said it said and Woodward said, "All the D and R senators signed off on it, and Dodd tried to deny it again, and Woodward says, "Well, I've got it right here in my pocket so I can read it to you."
At the break, he shoved the pages over to Dodd and Dodd wouldn't take them.
