Excuse me, guys, if I don't celebrate. I think this woman was treated unfairly from the beginning. I can't say whether she would have made a good Supreme Court Justice because I didn't know a whole lot about her or what she would have done had she been a Justice. Trouble is that neither did just about everyone else; yet a number of people used rumor, inneundo and just plain viciousness in an effort to kill her nomination...and all for their own political and personal agenda. The woman was never given a fair hearing. Sorry, folks...I thought the conduct of many from both the right camp and the left in this matter was just plain deplorable.

I agree! All the snide comments about "she makes a great cup of coffee" or her bowling score were nothing short of a right wing attempt at a favorite Dem tactic, character assasination.

The conservative media was deplorable, deliciously so.
Only, as usual, they refuse to use the same "deplorable" tactics on our real enemies.
Their dinner buddies in the MSM.
Which is why the conservative press has failed to reach mass media status.
They have ZERO influence of the public. None. And their betters in the MSM still write the script for this country.

She may have been treated unfairly IN THE BEGINNING, but in recent days, the rhetoric around here against her has toned down as the emotions settled. Honestly, you cannot blame those of us who were upset in the beginning after pouring many hours and much money into getting W re-elected for one BIG reason, to get people we could trust on the Supreme Court. Emotions ran wild because:
1) Harriet Miers was not on ANYBODY'S list but Harry Reid's.
2) History has not proven well for our side with stealth candidates.
3) Many were prepared, in fact desired, W to nominate someone that we could rally around him with. She was not it.

Oh, you're right. It is such a shame when your own written and spoken words come back to bite you.

Actually, her nomination was killed by the poor quality of her own work. As they say, it was in "black and white".

You can't just say "I'm ignorant and other people who weren't ignorant were wrong even though I don't know much about the situation."
