In brief, the Cards need to get younger and healthier, especially in the OF.
You had to remind me didn't you!!!!!
That's only because of the Big Media concentration in the Boston-New York Axis of Effete Eastern Intellectuals. They can stick their cachet up their achet.
The Cubs are going to wait till 2008, to make it an even hundred years.
I'm really glad the Series ended on a high note with those two incredible plays by Uribe! Leaves a good taste in your mouth!
i agree
WOW! You said it! I've been enjoying savoring the moment, posting these photos and interacting with you FReepers. But now I'm tired, and I'm going to be REALLY tired with 5 hours of sleep tonight after only 5 last night! But hey, how often does a night like this come around? First time in my lifetime! WHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, looks like I won't need to start the Game 5 thread for tomorrow night! Congrats to the White Sox and also a well-done to the Astros who got to "the dance" for the first time ever.
I heard them say on ESPN radio's coverage that Astros were held scoreless for 19 innings straight! Good pitching beats good hitting and the Astros couldn't capitalize on the many chances they had. But Hou. shouldn't fret--they may well be in the running for years to come...
I did have to work tonight so I could only "hear" the game
(other than a couple breaks where I watched it on TV). I taped it though and will watch it tomorrow night. 1-0...
now that's a pitchers' duel.
Die-hard Cubbies fan here, but I got to admit that watching the 14 inning game got me excited about it all...
CONGRATS to the White Sox & Chicago! (o:
Don't Stop Believing!
Waaa!!! :( Get over it, the Angels sucked. Doug Eddings wasn't the reason that Vlad Guererro looked like crap, and Garrett "Double Hopper" Anderson couldn't get a hit... oh look Chone Figgins struck out again. It must be sad to be bitter. How sad that you can't give credit to the champs, you just have to complain.

Sweet Home Chicago!
I'm not a Cubs or White Sox fan, but know the feeling that you are experiencing very well (Cincinnati Reds '75, '76 and '90). Happy for all of Chicago.
Hopefully our Colorado Rockies will not have to wait 88 years for a World Series title.
Oh... back in 1984 I drove on Lower Wacker drive... I took that same exit as the Blues Brothers did in the movie. :)
The Curse of the Black Sox was actually more deep and painful. Only one World Series appearance between now and 1919.
One thing that bothers me - I was surprised to find out that it's no longer Comiskey Park, it's "U.S. Cellular Field". Whoever the marketing person was who thought that up, should be horsewhipped.
Regards, Ivan
I agree! Bring back the old name!
I'm just waiting for a stadium named for something embarassing. Presumably Viagra Field.
Regards, Ivan
That'll get your attention.
>>Viagra Field.
Hey, those Raffy Palmeiro ads for Viagra disappeared. Wonder why.
