Hillary gets elected in '08, I leave the country. I'm a veteran, and a proud citizen, but if Hillary is elected, it's over...it's all over.

the Hillary Curse continuesHillary will probably announce she was a Sox fan (when her favorite NY teams were out of the race).

My goodness, Chicago was a great team this year. Yeah, just unbelievable. They sure beat up on my Red Sox a bunch of times this year, too... I think that's why I found it so tough to cheer for them in this post season.

Congrats to the Sox and their fans. As an Indians fan, it's good to see a team from our division win it. Notice the prominence of the much-maligned Central Division in both leagues this year. As a Midwesterner--Chicago native living in St. Louis, also have lived in Minneapolis--I like that.

4 games to 0 doesn't sound good but let me tell you this Houston team was good, very good. That show you how good the White Sox were in this series. Again, Congratulations to all the Sox fans.

Typical Houston sports big-game/big-series, stretch it to the limit and lose by the slimest of margins. Oh so close, but choke at the last chance. Total run differential of 6 is the lowest for any 4 game sweep in the post-season.
Biggest win was by 2 in 9 innings, with the go ahead run at the plate in the 8th of that one. Then extra innings, then the longest World Series game ever, then 1-0 nailbiter with the winning run at the plate in the 9th.
So typical for Houston sports teams. Its like the gal who keeps getting to the alter, only to have the groom walk away just before 'I do.' Would be much easier to take if the breakup happened before the engagement, or even just before the wedding day.
But that isn't meant to take anything away from the White Sox, who put on what may have been the most impressive post-season performance in MLB history.
At least the Astros played them closer than any other team.

I'm not a big fan (to understate the matter) of managers who overmanage their pitching staffs. If the SP is cruising and his stuff is still there then why mess with a good thing? Ozzie Guillen gets it, Garner doesn't. Strictly "by the book" managing is weak. ....especially if the book in question is poorly written.

As I said to DrewsDad in another post, I don't see very many Stros games during the year, living here in Connecticut, but I've been very impressed with what I've seen so far. I really like Brandon Backe... he's not only a very good pitcher, but he's got a lot of spunk. So cool to see him in the dugout clapping and joining in with the crowd's cheers. That's not something I've seen very often in MLB dugouts.
I have no doubt that we'll be seeing the Stros in the post season next year! ;-)

During the 2000 World Series (when the Yanks played the Mets) Hillary was wearing a double-billed cap -- a dark blue side with a Yankees logo and a medium blue side with Mets logo. At least Rudy took a stand -- he's a Yankee fan through and through.
