Society Becomes Stranger and Stranger
Tragically, many psychologists and sociologists have noted that even in same-sex “marriages,” both partners take on heterosexual gender roles. That is, one person will play a female role and the other will play a male role. Some members of the gay community have denounced this imitation of heterosexual marriage by inventing a new term. The new term for the phenomenon to be avoided is called “couple-ism.”
Since marriage is thought to be an outmoded “patriarchal” institution, taking on gender roles within a same-sex marriage is to be avoided. In other words, same-sex marriage is good as long as it is not like real marriage, which is bad, because it is patriarchal and oppressive and involves sex roles.
In the words of one radical activist: “I was blind to racism, ageism, sexism, couple-ism, and in general, all of the ways that people are oppressed…”
The invention of a new term to describe a hitherto unknown phenomenon shows that society is becoming increasingly confused with regard to sexual morality.
It is not "society" which is confused -- at least not all of it.
Someone has to 'catch', let's see gays avoid the gender term there...
I wouldn't say "society" is getting confused. We definitely have some confused nutcases that just have no concept of values.

Exactly. This is no small point. As long as blanket statements like this are tossed around in the marketplace of ideas, the deviants are having their way. Goebbels cheers from his grave, figuratively speaking.

I thought this was going to be a story about discrimination against single people, probably a viable idea for a story. But just dam...what a laugher!
No sense of fun.
Imagine the argument if the pro same sex marriage crowd said "Do you know what? We can work with the idea of a husband and a wife in a marriage. We want to pick who gets to be the wife."
It may not win anyone over, but it would show that they don't require heterosexual marriages to compromise or change as much.
Plus humor helps to bridge gaps.

I'm not sure I'm following this exactly. As I understand it, couple-ism is bad because it is oppressive like a real marriage because one of the queers is "the woman"? And by "the woman" they mean he has to do the dishes and vacuum the rug?
Queers are so funny ... I'm surprised all of our sitcoms aren't Will and Grace.
