Spanish judge orders arrest of three US soldiers
Jerusalem Post ^ | Oct. 19, 2005 | AP

A Spanish judge has issued an international arrest order for three US soldiers whose tank fired at a Baghdad hotel during the war in Iraq, killing a Spanish journalist, a court official said Wednesday.

Jose Couso, who worked for the Spanish television network Telecinco, died April 8, 2003, after the tank crew fired a shell at the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad where many journalists were staying to cover the war.

The Spanish judge said he issued the arrest order because of a lack of judicial cooperation from the United States regarding the case.

US officials insist the soldiers believed they were being shot at when they opened fire.

Many sociologists as yourself are the apologists of philosophical and moral relativism which is a serious cultural disease. There is no future for a civilization which forget its past, which lost memory.
Your Europe is a cultural no-man's land, empty land because.
You forgot, probably, that sociology is not history and not philosophy....
You'd try to be a good sociologist that would be a first step in the right direction. Then you should know the limits of your "science" and learn what "culture" means.
A "culture" ,european culture,is not done in one day!
And ,like it or not, europe was made from several sources and judeo christianism is a main of these whith greek and latin civilization.
Sorry but sociology is in great trouble. It's a part of our problem.

PS.:thank you to be specific when you use words like "god" or "christianism".May be you understand it's not the same thing.
Concerning gay mariage and adoption there are great rational, philosophical, psychological, arguments which ,brievly, rest on the notion of human nature and sexual difference, human reproduction, education and psychological development of child.
And for those who can't understand these notions i would say that it is criminal to imagine the experience of children education by same sex "parents" because children are not laboratory animals!
It's why i say this is a sign of a great cultural disaster and this not only a question of religion

I read Hyp's response, and I want to chime in to support you.

I know MANY Europeans, and have far more experience living outside the US than within it for the past half century.

Socialist Europeans are the most self-absorbed, ignorant, lazy, worthless people on the face of the earth. Frankly, it it weren't for the geographical significance of Europe, I wouldn't lift a finger to save them from their well-earned fate of (first) irrelevance, then co-option, then absorbtion into Dar-ul-Islam.

Unfortunately for us, we'll have to waste our blood on the ingrates yet again, I fear.

"The Spanish have all the reason in the world to remember the man who said this:

"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far"

LOL!
"Remember the Maine!"

So why do judges do this then? Why this type of legal case?

Because the Left is trying to establish the "principle" of international jurisdiction over American citizens, and by extension the United States of America itself.

Think of it as three-dimensional chess, and the international orgs are all stacked with Leftists, for that very reason.

Spain has a law allowing extraterritorial jurisdiction to its courts, which is why Spanish courts have been prominent in these cases, e.g. the pursuits of both Augusto Pinochet of Chile and Henry Kissinger.

The Left desperately wants to rope Kissinger into a war-crimes trial before he dies, and make him a latter-day Eichmann.

How to put this?

We're a republic of basically peaceful people. We aren't the Mongols. We don't want people to live in fear of us. We just don't want them to screw with us.

But making children far away cower and tremble at the sound of our name?.......that ain't us.

I agree with Sinkspur: "Whatever ..."

I've come to the conclusion that, until we do something approximating that, they are going to continue to "screw around with us" because they know that we aren't serious enough to put an end to it.

You're right. Not much more to say to that.

"Think of it as three-dimensional chess, and the international orgs are all stacked with Leftists, for that very reason." You say

The "world" Socialist web site:

http://www.wsws.org/

This is 100% accurate. The socialist leftist is supra-national and centralist in thought. I fear that this thought is creeping up in the US as well. As in Germany (Where it took off starting the mid 60s) and elsewhere in the West, the socialist thought seems to creep up slowly.

Well, you don't have to lay waste, or make entire populations live in fear. What you do is what the British did, which was to lure the Mahdi's armies to Omdurman and......harvest them.

One or two good defeats like that, really good thumping ones with Fuzzy Wuzzies stacked up like cordwood, and they'll conclude on their own that the loudmouths are "false prophets", and finish the job. Problem solved.

Yeah, it's in my family, too. What do you say after people you care about tell you that they're ready for the United States to pack it in and turn over the keys to the United Nations cleptocracy?
