Hi, Luv! It's been a busy one! After work, I got my nails done (my one vice...well, ok, that and gourmet coffee...) then went to water aerobics, then went to a baby shower (and almost hit 4 deer on the way...Ms. B), then came home and put in a load of wash (wet bathing suit and towel plus other things), finally ate some dinner, and sat down here! I talked to Gun Dr. and Gumdrop I in between. How's that? I'm sure I left out something.... (Too much information???? Huh???? grin...)

4 all at once on a very lonely country road (only 2 miles from my house, though). They were gorgeous. We have them all over the place around here, and I have them in my yard sometimes. YOu know the "deer in the headlights" saying? Well, that's exactly what I had. They looked like nice, fat does, but one may have been a spike buck. It was hard to tell. I saw their eyes gleaming in time to stop. They were frozen there for a very long moment. I had to honk the horn to get them to move. They I sat still until they were gone because they kept going in circles at first. They were so confused!

Yark! Sure glad you had seen their eyes gleaming in time to miss hitting them. Sounds like you live in a beautiful place.....but just a teensy bit dangerous, deer-wise! Silly things!

OH, it's hunting season, plus mating season, so they are on the move at night. The acorns are plentiful and they are fattening up for winter. We are used to watching for deer around here, and bear, too. I haven't seen a bear since I've lived here, but my neighbors up the road about 1/4 mile have oodles of pictures of them in their yard. I know one got in my outdoor (huge) trash can one night because I heard it and it had to be really big to swipe it like it did.

We never have bear, but the people who live south of here around San Angelo have to watch for deer all the time. All I see around my county are cotton-tails, jack rabbits, and coyotes. Some say they see bob-cats, but I never have.
