"This was a chance to fight back against the Borking tendency and force the left to stand tall and confirm like the pubbies did for RBG, or else show the public how THEY are the problem....yet Bush blew it".

And finally someone has the balls to come right out and say exactly what most of this madness is about.

This is mostly about having a knock down drag out brawl with the democrats. Miers is just caught in the middle.

I would like nothing more to see the nuclear option not only used, but used over and over again. Fortunately some of us have taken a deep breath, stepped back, and assessed the whole situation before we go blindly charging into the ranks of the enemy.

General Bush would be going to war with a rag tag army comprised of a few warriors, a herd of cats, some blind girl scouts, and a few officers waiting for him to close his eyes just once so they can strangle him in his sleep. And that nuclear bomb we were counting on? It seems the very officers who want to kill Caesar not only have control of the football, they have shared the launch codes with the enemy as well.

Oh yeah! Thats the Army I want fighting my battles for me! Might as well just jump into my pine box and bury myself alive. At least I wont waste the energy of running to my certain death.

You assume that the only victory is in getting a nominee through. If your general can see only that outcome, no wonder he's so scared and sneaking around in the shadows. True strategists (strategerists?) can see that by having principles and integrity and standing up for the Constitution--while your opponent opposes it--is a victory overall, even if the nominee is not confirmed. And if you think that it's the Right who'd be making a pawn of that nominee (when it's the Left that's doing the attacking), then perhaps you'd feel that Bush was responsible for Casey Sheehan's death (when it's the terrorists who killed him)?

Your position holds no logic.
