BTTT
I wonder how they felt about the 'children' comment?
So that time I was called a dirty redskin, it was actually a compliment.
Funny, I've met Seminoles and Miccousoukee down in Florida and Tulalips here in Washington who were wearing "Washington Redkins" T-shirts.
Hmmm...I had read that it was originally used by settlers New England/New York area in reference to the custom of those Indians to paint their faces red when going to war.
ping
AFAIK, it was to compare them to his "white children" - meaning the other citizens.
Here's hoping they never bow down to PC and change their name!
they won't with Snyder as their owner.
And he will be there for the next 50 years or so....
2 lbs. sm. red new potatoes, cooked
1/2 c. sliced scallions
1/2 c. thawed frozen peas
1/4 c. extra virgin olive oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
juice of 1 lemon
Chopped fresh dill and parsley
While potatoes are cooking, mix together garlic, olive oil and lemon juice. Quarter or cut potatoes (skins on) while still warm. Gently toss together potatoes, peas, onions and prepared dressing. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and dill. Serve warm or chilled.
No, just the "dirty" part was an insult. So you could only blacken one eye of his.........
So if Washington Redskins is a nickname, what is their real name?
"So that time I was called a dirty redskin, it was actually a compliment."
Well, not the dirty part.
My grandmother four times removed was scalped and killed by Commanches. I bear them no ill will, that's ancient history.
Don't let Ward Churchill hear about all this, though.
Dang it, Now! You done made me hungry !........8^)

Touché.
They won 3 SBs in the 1980s and actually had a better winning percentage throughout the 80s than the 49ers.
They may have liked it better than this, from The Declaration Of Independance:
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
