Where do we go? Hopefully NOWHERE.
We need to grow up and understand that our leaders are not perfect. Bush made a genuine mistake, but I am supporting his choice based on the fact that he was practically forced to choose Miers, when no one else would (or could) take the job.
Bush had no choice, so I forgive him for this. But he erred in assuming that his supporters would march in lockstep with their mouths shut.
But the administration makes a much worse mistake when they attack those who question Miers with the sexist and elitist tags. They made their jobs a lot harder, and I can only guess that Karl Rove is too busy defending himself than to have time to tell others to shut the hell up.

BTW, slightly off topic: the keywords that have been added to this thread are some of the funniest I've ever seen.

But the administration makes a much worse mistake when they attack those who question Miers with the sexist and elitist tags. Of course, some of those attacking Miers were doing so on the basis that she was an alleged "affirmative action" pick, and some (like Coulter and Ingraham), on the basis that she didn't go to a good enough school.
I don't think the Administration was attacking everyone who questioned Miers as sexist or elitist. But I do think they had to respond to those particular attacks.

Where do we go? Hopefully NOWHERE.If I read your opus correctly W. made the best decision under the circumstances. If W. had a Senate with spine in it, he would possibly have chosen someone else.
I am going nowhere, I will stay Republican no matter who W. picks. I trust him to make the best decision possible.
