I wonder if we'll get to see that on "Cops" along with the 200 stolen cars?

Playing good cop/ bad cop without any good cops.

Davis, who is black, was subdued at the intersection of Conti and Bourbon streets. Three of the officers appeared to be white, and the other was light skinned. Defillo said race was not an issue.

Well that won't last long. How could anyone miss the fact that this is Bush's fault? And he doesn't care about black people.

Drunk, disorderly, resisting arrest, etc. Followed by a beat down. What's the problem?

Are they getting in trouble because the guy is black? Because they punched him in the head? Because he's 64? All of the above?

We're turning into a bunch of Frenchy's. Sheesh.

This is SOP for the NO cops. We saw them beating up some long-haired guy on the Canal St. Median one night many moons ago. I have no idea what the guy had done; maybe nothing, but they sure beat the snot out of him.

There will be a criminal investigation, and three New Orleans Police Department officers will be suspended Sunday, arrested and charged with simple battery, Capt. Marlon Defillo said.

They should really give it to them for such actions and condemn them to two week paid in Las Vegas!

That would show them!

Any mention of the little old lady who was jumped in her home by a big brute from the NO police department because she was holding a small handgun and refused to abandon her home?

White cops beating up a black old man. Good thing there's no one left New Orleans to riot.

This is not a crime, just "misconduct."

"Davis, who is black, was subdued at the intersection of Conti and Bourbon streets. Three of the officers appeared to be white, and the other was light skinned. Defillo said race was not an issue."

Don't be too sure Mr. Defillo. Once the ACLU gets ahold of this, and once Mr. Davis' attorney files the civil lawsuit, thats all that this will be about. If he's lucky, some of the residents of NO will have returned by the time this happens.

When it's all over, the NOPD won't be the only ones riding around in caddies. Mr. Davis will have a few of his own.

What's scary is that these are the cops who were brave and dedicated enough not to desert when the storm came through!

One blogger had some night photos of the cops doing a Rodney King on a looter, and I can't say I feel sorry for the dude.

That being said, maybe Mayor Nagin should take the opportunity to get himself a new police force, too. This one appears to be past its sell-by date.

Meanwhile, an officer ordered APTN producer Rich Matthews and the cameraman to stop recording. When Matthews held up his credentials and explained he was working, the officer grabbed the producer, leaned him backward over a car, jabbed him in the stomach and unleashed a profanity-laced tirade.

Funny how the government (law enforcement included) can put cameras all over the place and we have no say in the matter, but God forbid somebody films the government....
