"Why not recognize it for waht it is/was? All Hallows (Saints) Eve? The night before All Saints' Day, originally a Catholic holy day? Nothing evil in that.............."

How about Samhain?

How about Samhain?

Samhain actually was a fall Festival – it marked the end of good weather, the crops were harvested and everything would be dull, gray, and boring with long nights, short days and not much to do until Spring.
