Re-focus Halloween!
If your school insists on having some kind of Halloween celebration, recommend that they steer away from the ghoulish and occult and, instead, focus on the event as a fall festival. ...

Leftists are primarily defined by their obvious dislike of/hatred for "right wing Christians".

How & Why to Re-focus Halloween as a "Fall Festival". To help augment the "living, breathing" mindsets of some to change the core of what America is and does.

I'm far to the right of almost all "right wing Christians".
I'm also aware of what this country would look like if they were running the show.

ROTFL... it wouldn't make one bit of difference to me and I don't really think my wife would care much either. She'd just be relieved that they aren't complete rationalists like their old man.

Weird. My church did something called "Judgment House" last year. It was basically about people getting killed in a car accident and some going to hell and some going to heaven. I thought it was excellent, probably because it didn't seem to be done to counter Halloween.

Yeah, but you get to pick who gets the good stuff and who gets the cheap stuff.

LOL! Actually plaid pants were 70's. I graduated from HS in 1963, so I was wearing the skinny black pants and white shirt, with a REALLY narrow tie.
Our church didn't do any such nonsense about dancing and the like, so I just went to the Senior Dance and had a good time.
However, I always did like the church potluck dinners. I still do. I go to them frequently at local Lutheran churches.
It works really well. I bring a nice casserole and, since I'm not a member, lots of friendly people want to talk with me. Food's good, too.
I've always gone to church potlucks. I probably always will.

"I just want to know why I should buy candy for other peoples' children."
Just do like I do and put an empty bowl on your porch, put a note on the bowl that says, "please take just one and have a safe halloween." The kids will assume some jerk emptied the whole bowl at the beginning of the night.

You're right. I guess I'll have to read the Bible a few more times to find the part about not dressing up and eating candy.

Islamofacists would also like to revoke Halloween.
Religion can be as divisive as it is uniting. Depends on how its applied. Hurling condemnations is a little "spooky" to me as well. (pun intended)

Witchcraft? My 3 kids are not honoring witchcraft when the dress up like(last year's costumes) supermouse, Legolas, and Strawberry Shortcake. They are worshipping candy and chocolate, given to them by smiling people for free.

Just a question. How can you be a "godless" athiest? Does that mean you can be a "godfull" or "godsome" athiest? I still remember the damp smell of the church basement where we had all the potlucks when I was growing up. You are right, there is something homey and family friendly about them.

Give me a break. It's Halloween, for crying out loud. This is even more stupid than those who asserted that their children were permanently damaged by seeing a human breast on television.
