President George W. Bush told Palestinian ministers that God had told him to invade Afghanistan and Iraq - and create a Palestinian State, a new BBC series reveals.
In Elusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs, a major three-part series on BBC TWO (at 9.00pm on Monday 10, Monday 17 and Monday 24 October), Abu Mazen, Palestinian Prime Minister, and Nabil Shaath, his Foreign Minister, describe their first meeting with President Bush in June 2003.
Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq
" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"

Play that electric guitar!
There isn't. And people who were at the meetings say it's not true.
And sing with a point(e)!
"Play that electric guitar!"
I think somebody has been playing with the electric minus the guitar.
It would certainly not be big news that the Palestinians are liars.
It would be simply very old facts.
LOL
Here is a perfect example of why we need to be praying for President Bush on a regular basis. What absurdity to endure!
I don't know what is worse: the fact that any media source would present this as truth, or the fact that some around here would believe it.
Well, I wet my pants I laughed so hard. So I guess I'll go upstairs and change. Wonder if God called him on the phone or used the ever reliable Burning Bush?
You've got that right - the God Abraham, Issac and Jacob would NEVER be behind this. I'm wondering if the report is even true tho. IF it is, Bush is in terrible trouble!!
I expect to hear Bush DENY this - if he doesn't he will have NO Christian base left at all. Hopefully this is BS.
George Bush will say he believes in God, will say he is inspired by God, he will speak of his faith regarding God, but in no way is GW Bush going to state that he was told by GOD to do ANYTHING.
This story is fabricated by people who don't like Bush. This is almost the Democrat party rumor on George in print here.
The BBC has gone so far off the wall it isn't worth listening to anymore. I know I can't stand it. I used to watch the odd show, not anymore. They are actually worse than Canadian TV and that's BAD!!
Pat Robertson has developed the habit of taking one foot out of his mouth only to insert the other. Unfortunately.
I really don't believe it but I hope that President Bush denies it. I actually heard it on Shepherd Smith today!! I was surprised that FOX would report such a thing.
BBC, huh? Reporting on the word of the Palestinian Foreign Minister, huh?
The left is so damn gullible!
What was that BBC guy smoking?
You're exactly right. God does speak to His children through His Word, through the heart, and through other people. That said, I can't believe Bush would say that in public. Especially to Muslims. He may have heard from God in the past and he may hear from him in the future, but this much I KNOW, God did NOT tell him to divide up the land HE gave to Israel. It's their land, and ANY NATION that turns their back on Israel will endure God's wrath. I wish Bush would read the Bible, because it is written out in black and white for ALL who read it. IF anyone told Bush to force the Israelis out so it could be given to the Palestinians, it was Satan!!
And that's a bull's-eye!
