Maybe some experience doing a similar job in the past?

Ok, I can except that, she hasn't been a judge. I would prefer it that way myself. She is a workaholic, she'll come up to speed very quickly, IMHO. Have you read any of her opinions?

The way I feel about it is that if you are going to nominate a lawyer, then you nominate a judge. Otherwise you do the country and the world a favor and nominate someone who is not a lawyer at all (and maybe restore some common sense to the Court).

William Rehnquist did not have any judicial experience when Nixon chose him. Key words: no judicial experience.
