I've got one. Our President, who has yet to tell his constituents a lie, believes she will interpret the Constitution as written. He has known her for over ten years. That is what I require in a Supreme Court justice.

I trusted him in the WOT, Iraq, tax cuts. He has brought integrity back to the office. Why should I not believe him now?

Oh ye of little faith.

Why should I? I have watched this president spend in a way the would appall even the most inebriated maritime spend thrift imaginable. You are right there are many things to admire about GW, but I have my doubts this nomination is one of them.

1) Never vetoed a spending bill (or any other bill).
2) Has completely abandoned our southern border.
3) Increased federal spending on education and expanded federal involvement in education curriculum.
4) Signed the appalling "Campaign Finance Reform" bill into law, thereby limiting freedom of speech.
5) Has not proposed one single budget cut.

You have to remember that this is day time and most of the real conservatives are at jobs and can't post. We are being over run this morning with DUers and Dems in disguise trying to sow a little discordence amoung the ranks. Also, we have the usual amount of libertarians making their case for voting 3rd party next election to make sure the Dems regain control of the government.

All these people are judging this woman on the fact that the candidate THEY wanted didn't get nominated. Most of them no nothing about her and are letting a few right wing pundits( I love 'em, don't get me wrong) do their thinking for them.

I, for one, will wait and see, and check her out first before making up my mind one way or another.

It is too bad we can't weed the DUers who post on here out but you can recognize them pretty easy, they are the ones who say, "That's it, not one more dime for the pubbies until they start towing the mark!", same old, same old every time.

It was predictable what would happen with Bush's nominee, no matter who he picked, could have been JRB and they would still be complaining.

In addition to what Maceman said, and in addition to the contradictory past of Miers, there's this little matter of 50-year history of Republican SCOTUS nominations. Conservatives have been nominated by Pubbie Presidents only 50% of the time, while outright liberals have been nominated 25% of the time. Roberts falls (barely, at this point) into the conservative camp.
