Miers, 60....
This is the biggest problem with her. She's not going to be on the Court very long.

She's not going to be on the Court very long. For many here, based on how they have responded to this, that may not be a bad thing.

Since women live, on average, seven years longer than men, Miers at 59 (I believe that's correct) is nearly the equivalent of Roberts at 50. She's smart, able, healthy, and accomplished. And she has a short paper trail, making her hard to attack.
The opponents have "misunderestimated" the President yet again.

If you screw up a pick, you don't want it haunting you for 30 years...

This is the biggest problem with her. She's not going to be on the Court very long. It's not just her age, she really doesn't look healthy. She is the same age as Bush and looks like she is his mother. I hoipe I'm wrong, but I don't expect her to last to 75.

Well, 60 can be good or bad, depending on what kind of a justice she is. Also, women generally live longer than men. Stevens was 55 when appointed, and he is still unfortunately ticking after a long 30 years.

I just don't get the jump to judgement on FR alone on Miers.
