Did you notice that right off the bat on this thread people were jumping to conclusions? Instead of saying, "who is she?", "let's wait and see", they were already assuming she was a bad pick.
Now, I admit that I have some misgivings that she is not a judge. But you could turn that around and say, why not get a perspective from someone who has never been a judge?
I also had hoped for someone younger who would therefore would sit on the bench longer. But once again, she might give us 20 good years.
A lot of us in Texas knew who she was, and did a little more research as soon as her name came up. The Lottery commission gig is not a glimmering feather in her cap. The Texas lottery has been a debacle since its inception. As to Harriet's performance with the City of Dallas, why are none of the cheerleaders posting about her performance? Even one or two examples of staunch conservatism would be nice.

I can't believe the tone of this thread. Before during and after the announcement, nothing but reactionist anarchy here. Unreal. Extremist, you could almost say. Well, some commentary around the time of the announcement (Schumer) mentioned the extreme wings of both parties, and then I get home and read this thread - its the only thing he has ever said that has made sense to me (I don't belive his sincerity, by the way)
