The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
Most explosives consist of a fuel and an oxidizer, usually combined either to get the explosion, or blended in anything from a stable mixture to highly unstable ones. In this case, TATP Wikpedia on TATP was suspected to be the explosive, (Triaacetonetriperoxide) and Hydrogen Peroxide is an ingredient which can be used to manufacture the explosive.
However, the average, drug store garden variety Hydrogen Peroxide is not very active compared to the concentrated stuff.
I accidentally concentrated some (I won't say how in open forum) and managed to spill a little on my finger--which is how I (painfully) made the discovery. It ate a lot of skin before I could get to a water faucet to dilute it and wash it away--a painful and immediate burn.
There's a news blackout on the search for his Pakistani roommate. Maybe he's already back in Karachi.
BTTT
Yeah H2O2, hydrogen (dioxide) peroxide. Fasciating stuff: at 3-5% it's a disenfectant, at 30% its used as a bleach, at 90% it's used as rocket fuel! LOL..... The germans powerd a submarine with it in WW2.
"So what kind of damage would a bomb that size do INSIDE a bus??"
Depends on where in the bus it exploded. Near a fuel tank, sufficient to rupture it, it would look much like that one that was in the news during the evac from Rita. Away from that, body parts splattered, windows blown out, but there would be survivors; possibly quite a few. If it was wrapped in nails or such, as the islamofacist suicide bombers do, probably still survivors in the second case, but not as many, and many more grievously wounded. It would be very ugly.
mornin' bump
---So someone at the Colorado Springs Gazette did the photoshoping?---
You asked what was the first thing that came to mind.
Joel Henry Henrichs...ok, so what's his *real* name? The one he no doubt changed it to when he converted? Let's not be racist now let's report the lad's real name. The one he no doubt would want to be called.
What do you mean we can't. If a transvestite changed their name from Henry to Henrietta, the MSM would be falling all over themselves to report the new name.
So let's hear his real - Islamic - name. Or perhaps the followers of TROP and have received special dispensation for suicide bombers to get their 72 virgins without a name change. :)
Hydrogen peroxide is also used as rocket fuel. In relatively pure form, it is rather powerful as an oxidant. You can actually use sugar for the combustant... It's also touchy as heck.

no, but the cop I talked to was one of the first on-scene, and reported the lack of schrapnel, so they decided to keep people inside for fear of a stampede, he said. Even if there were four or five bombers inside, they'd take fewer casualties that way, in his opinion. Not sure I agree, but I wasn't there until nealy 48 hours later, after all.
I do, however, think that this was a jihadi bombing gone wrong.
H2O2 is nasty stuff in concentrated form, but organic peroxides in general are nothing to monkey with. No wonder so many jihadis go 'boom' prematurely.
WOW! THat shows the festering underside of the muslim apologists at OU, if anything does. Great link!
I guess NEIN did have some things right about the TATP then....
It will be covered up so that we don't offend our Party of Peace activists.
