From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.

The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.

After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

I think I just answered my own question. Dental records, if teeth intact. Silly me.

If it detonated on a thick reinforced concrete road, let's say (not a bad idea for heavyweight vehicles such as might visit a stadium), there might not be much of a crater.

I'm not familiar with the site. From what I've read, I picture a sidewalk near a science building, on the periphery of the campus. May or may not have been a road nearby. I haven't seen any pictures of the site, and I haven't heard anything other than conjecture that there wasn't a crater. Also, a report has said that windows were damaged. That could have been a result of the blast, or shrapnel. This thing is like a mentat exercise. Very little information--so no conclusions are possible--unless you live on Dune and you are really, really sharp.

Maybe that's all it was, nothing more than a sucidial student. No need for 24/7 coverage of a mentally sick college kid.

well, we were getting 24/7 coverage of a narcissitic & sociopathic dutch boy from aruba and the apparent murder of one girl from the deep south? What gives....

I'm near Natalee's hometown. The yellow ribbons on mailboxes have faded and we hear virtually nothing locally anymore. FNC keeps it going.

I don't follow Aruba. Not since about the third days coverage of it. I don't even know who the 'Dutch' boy is, and don't feel the need to know.

I have enough problems of my own to keep me occupied. That said, I hope she's in the arms of Jesus.

Don't get me wrong, I have been interested in the Holloway case(i am from the region as well)..but u have to admit that something is very fishy here. Maybe the student was murdered at OU..why did they jump on the suicide angle so fast?

It doesn't seem like a suicide to me.

I suspect a back-pack was left sitting on the bench (who would think anything of a back-pack sitting on a bench near 85,000 college kids) and the kid just sat on the bench beside it.

I suspect there were supposed to be a lot more kids around and more were meant to die.

Oh, yeah, but let's have all the networks cover Natalie Holloway for months and the gal who went to Vegas and claimed to be kidnapped. These are IMPORTANT STORIES....some Midwest, small-town college football game with 85,000 fans in a stadium with a "depressed" kid committing suicide isn't "newsworthy"?

Sorry, but I don't buy into what's going on in the Media.

Perhaps..but the LSM always loves a good 'home boy terrorist' story..it makes them 'feel' better about the poor 'freedom fighters' in Iraq. (rolling eyes)

Hi Judy, haven't seen you in a while. Hope everything is good with you.

I've seen some weird shi@ in my years on this planet, I hope you're wrong because if you aren't...

I believe in a couple of days things will be investigated more comprehensively and throughly. I'll keep my fingers crossed it's just a mentally disturbed kid, but keep my mind open to something more nefarious. In this day and age one can never be sure of anything anymore except that islamofacists want us terrified and dead.
