I'm going with the suicidal student who wanted attention theory."

I guess he won't be around to bask in the attention, though. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

Suicide among young people is not uncommon in this country. Suicide by bombing in any age group is almost non-existent.

One person was killed in an explosion in a traffic circle about 100 yards from a packed football stadium at the University of Oklahoma on Saturday night in what authorities were calling a suicide.

"We are apparently dealing with an individual suicide, which is under full investigation," OU President David Boren said in a statement.

FSN is now reporting it on West Side, no identity of sex known. Let you know more later, lock down in stadium during half time. That is all they said.

Oh my God, do we have corroboration on this? Not to distrust your wife, but was it a rumor or?

I've got family in OKC

NORMAN, Okla. -- One person was killed in an explosion in a traffic circle about 100 yards from a packed football stadium at the University of Oklahoma on Saturday night in what authorities were calling a suicide.

"We are apparently dealing with an individual suicide, which is under full investigation," OU President David Boren said in a statement.

The loud noise of the explosion could be heard inside Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, where 84,000 people were watching the Oklahoma Sooners play Kansas State.

Officers cordoned off an area west the stadium after the explosion and nobody was allowed out of the stadium immediately after the blast, which occurred shortly before 8 p.m., about halftime of the game. People were allowed out about 30 minutes later.

About 9 p.m. a police bomb squad detonated explosives found at the site of the blast.

Jaclyn Hull, an OU freshman, said she was leaving the game shortly before the explosion.

"We saw a little bit of smoke, about as much as you would see coming up from a grill," she said.

local news reporting now.... says Stoops was made aware ....showing people live leaving the stadium... Boren talked to fans and told them all was fine. West and south of stadium is closed. Saying it's an individual suicide. Explosion was outside the stadium on the west side.

Parking garage on the west side of stadium is closed (that's the $$$$ section). Bomb dogs and robot searching for any other devices. More at 10

"Building number 31 looks fairly close to the stadium. Not right next to it, but not too far. Your map confirms the news reports that police are not letting anyone out the west side of the stadium."

I went to OU. As I remember the Micro building is about 150-200 yards from the stadium

Kind of makes me wonder if the score had been reversed would the game have been called?

Suicide by bomb? That does seem kind of odd.

An "individual suicide" but they "detonated explosives" found at the site of the blast?

Sounds a little odd.
