Slavery has been a part of mans history since the beginning of recorded time. The pharaohs of Egypt used hundreds of thousands of African slaves to build the pyramids. The Romans used slaves from all over their empire to build their magnificent structures. The ancient Greeks used slaves to build the Parthenon and other palaces and temples. The Great Wall of China was built by Chinese slaves.
When the Americas were discovered, slavery migrated with the people to the new world and was accepted like all the rest of the old world traditions. This acceptance lasted even through the drafting of the Declaration of Independence where we find, We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
It took Abraham Lincoln, the Republican Party, and a Civil War with hundreds of thousands of Americans dying to formally break the shackles of slavery in the United States. However, the slavery advocating Democrat Party has not surrendered the concept of slavery. When Robert E. Lee surrendered the Confederate Army to Ulysses S. Grant the war was not over for the Democrats.
Today, the leaders of the Democrat Party realize that the majority of individuals put their physical well being ahead of anything else. These socialist have looked back into history to see how to continue slavery in America, and in todays America all the slaves are not all black.
Karl Marx showed Vladimir Lenin and Adolph Hitler, that the people will sell their freedom to anyone that promised to take care of them. In the United States Karl Marxs ideas took hold in the 1930s with FDR and the new socialist Democrats. The Democrat Party has been constantly telling the masses they are not able to achieve personal security on their own without the government to help them.
So now we have returned once again to slavery in the United States. The new Democrat socialist power figures have learned their lessons well. It is not a slavery using physical whips and chains, but rather slavery using the individual's own mind to control him.
The national disgrace of the City of New Orleans only spot lights the problem. The Federal government spent uncounted millions of dollars providing for food, clothing and shelter for thousands of individuals that were very willing to let the government take of them. When a natural disaster struck these individuals had no idea where to go, or what to do. The ability to be independent and think for one self has been bred out of modern day slaves.
Louisiana and New Orleans government was made up of politicians that were elected on their campaign promises of social equality. The leadership capabilities of the elected individuals were never even considered. The net effect was that the population was left to take care of themselves without any resources.
Individuals that still retained the ability to think for themselves said, to hell with local government leaders and got out by whatever means possible. One enterprising young man commandeered an unused school bus and drove his neighbors to safety without local government permission or help.
Now leaders of the Democrat Socialist Party are trying to blame President Bush and his administration for their incompetents. All of the party slave holders are scrambling to find ways to cast the blame on someone else for their bungling.
Even when the facts are exposed to the light of day, modern day slaves still have a great deal of problems accepting that they must take responsibly for their own well being. If you are not on top of the Democrat Socialist pyramid you will always be a slave.
Been sayin this, for the *longest* time.
African-American man from New Orleans presented to the office this week -- and I'm quite a distance away from NO. Said that the African-Americans believed Katrina stood for "Cleansing" from God because of the total corruption of NO. Rita stood for "Rinsing".
Said that the reason many African-Americans didn't want to leave NO was to protect what little they owned. They knew that the New Orleans POLICE would come in and loot what they had. They feared the corrupt police.
I believe him.
Mr. Sydney Wallace puts the matter very succinctly. I hope he isn't tarred and feathered for it.

The republican party was formed to keep slavery from spreading out west. The republican party fought and died to end slavery. The democrat party fought, died and undermined all efforts to end slavery and apartheid.
Sounds good, but.... I wonder if it isn't just after the fact BS.
Consider:
Those who ended up in the Superdome ultimately didn't stay behind to protect their goods (as many vietnamese in the area did).
Also, although the NO police might be pretty bad, do you really think that those who lived there more feared the police as thieves than their neighbor down the street?
It's hard to distinguish between who stayed behind to protect their property and who stayed behind to loot.
Uh Oh! Don't let some Rebel Freepers see that, they think the Republican Party was formed to invade the South.
Most have been cared for all their lives. The difference is slaves worked for their care; such as it was. But when given their freedom didn't know what to do or where to go, having been told what to do all their lives.
Most of these people have been paid to do nothing all their lives and have learned how the game the socialist system which, they learned, pays them a lot more money to have children and not be married.
The real scandal in this country is "we've" allowed this to continue, unchallenged for 60+ years, same as we continue to allow environmentalists to control our lives each and ever day.
Did anyone see Anderson Cooper last night? He showed a compilation of stories from the past month; a lot of it in the 9th ward. I'm not a CNN fan, but Anderson did some fine, sensitive, reporting during this crisis...
One of the stories was a wonderful old woman (probably in her 60's) who is blind and has a seeing-eye-dog... she was living in a house that had lost the roof and waiting until someone came to rescue her -- with her dog... this woman was very religious and would walk around singing Christian songs to her dog in this most melodic voice.
Well, CNN found out about her and Anderson was there when the police came to rescue her. HER -- not her dog! They told her she had to leave her dog and she stood face to face with these unseeing eyes and informed them she was staying put because she was blind and her dog was her eyes and her life... they still refused...
I guess some negotiations went on behind the scenes because finally they relented and said she could take the dog (I only hope wherever she ended up they allowed her to keep the dog)....Anderson wanted to help her pack some belongings and she didn't even have one bag to put anything in to take with her... she just cheerfully said she'd carry a couple of dresses with her and this was God's plan for her. She'd lived in NOLA all her life and he was telling her it was time for a new adventure and as long as she had her dog she would be okay... I was in tears at the end and you could tell Anderson was really choked up just re-relating the story.
My question is are these cops so crooked, so unfeeling that they would even make an old lady leave her seeing-eye dog behind?
What I don't understand is the educated blacks who work to keep their own people down.
Yesterday FOX reported Los Angeles, Detroit and Baltimore are all planning to lower THEIR standards as well to get more minority officers.
Didn't they...
