First Trio "Married" in The Netherlands

"The Netherlands and Belgium were the first countries to give full marriage rights to homosexuals. In the United States some politicians propose civil unions that give homosexual couples the full benefits and responsibilities of marriage. These civil unions differ from marriage only in name.
Meanwhile in the Netherlands polygamy has been legalised in all but name. Last Friday the first civil was registered. Victor de Bruijn (46) from Roosendaal married both Bianca (31) and Mirjam (35) in a ceremony before a notary who duly registered their civil union.
I love both Bianca and Mirjam, so I am marrying them both, Victor said."

I'm waiting for someone to marry their dog! I'm sure it will become legal someday.
I remember reading a quote from Anita Bryant in 1977 about where she was asked about homosexual rights and the idea of them marrying and she said something like that if that came about, it will be OK to "marry a St. Bernard." She was ahead of her time. I remember she was tossed from Florida Orange Juice where they dumped her for her views.

Finally, the long held nerd dream of literally marrying your computer will become a reality.
*strokes iBook a little too lovingly* Soon, my pet. We are one step closer. Patience...
/sarcasm
We must be on the same frequency, "soon, my dear...." as I stroke the lovely plastic case of my Playstation (the first one). I wanna marry my Playstation! B-)
Might as well go all the way, I want to marry my 1977 Mercury Cougar too. B-)
/sarcasm>
Sorry, I need my dark humor, keeps me sane.

Welcome to Europe, everybody.
Dang, this is tough, there really isn't one side to root for. One side is a bunch of panty-wastes that run Western to Central Europe (I'm leaving the UK out of it, I'm talking about the continent), if I emptied all the bars in Pittsburgh of middle aged patrons, gave them M1 Garands and shotguns, get enough ro-ro ships to load the pickups with Confederate flags on them and turn them loose, Europe would be known as "Nowhere Land" by nightfall. I think we are seeing a few beams of light, the Dutch are "getting it" on one level but on others they are not so I have to keep defining them as wimps.
On yhe other hand, you have the growing crowds of Islamo-fascists. There are a few redeeming values, they are against homosexuality, radical feminism, believe in property ownership, and so on, but they take it way too far in the other direction. Still, the "Schadenfreude" in me would love to see the wimpy lefty Euros take it in the chin so they will hopefully find that spark and fight back, if not, well, the lefties do deserve to serve their new masters. Then with a nuclear France, you have Islamo-fascists hands on the keys to their nukes, not good. You might have waves of immigrants headed to the UK, Canada, US and Australia and of course, you do have a good number with their heads on straight, some of them who might be Freepers.
Tough call, but we might receive a call from them to save their butts again.

Polygamy always wrong? Not necessarily. Bigamy is having one wife too many. Monogamy is the same.

Interestingly, if he and the two "ladies" simply lived together no one would notice or care.

This is the result of mixing a religious sacrament (marriage) with the State. Any good conservative should know that once we let the State get its paws onto marriage, it can do whatever it wants.

Interestingly, if he and the two "ladies" simply lived together no one would notice or care.I have known a few threesomes, and I must admit that they all seem to have worked quite well. Using one as an example, the Male and "Female1" are professionals and make nice salaries to provide for the family, while "Female2" takes care of the children, and they all have time together in the evening.
I'd imagine that having two females would help alleviate the Coolidge Effect for the male, and likewise could remove child-rearing pressures from women who wish to pursue a career also.
I'm not sure what the effects on the children will be long-term, but I imagine they are better than with a straight homosexual (pun intended) family. I wonder if it's not a natural new paradigm for the changes that we've allowed to happen in our society already.

I remember reading a quote from Anita Bryant in 1977 [. . .] and she said something like that if that came about, it will be OK to "marry a St. Bernard." She was ahead of her time. If she'd said, "The Berlin Wall," she'd have been two years ahead of her time...
http://www.algonet.se/~giljotin/eija.html
"My love is The Berlin-Wall with whom I am married since 17th of June 1979."
See also http://www.berlinermauer.se/:
"This is my husband. His name is the Berlin Wall and he was born on August 13, 1961. I expect you've heard of him; he is quite a celebrity. He lives in Berlin.
I used to work in a pharmacy. Now I own a museum. My husband's job was to divide East and West Berlin. He is retired now. "
and
http://www.algonet.se/~giljotin/explan.html"My attraction to the Berlin Wall and other constructions is BOTH emotional AND sexual. I love them as beings (I use this word intentionally here). I enjoy their company
and I catch fire sexually on the Berlin Wall."

Dude. if it continues.. I will move to the Czech Republic.. the best beer and the most beautiful women in the world.. Our tastes are similar. :-) But I must say that there are some really prime exceptions to the "most beautiful women" part, living right here in America. :-)

I agree but I felt more at home in Czech than I did in America. The Czech people love America and our ideologies. AThe major portion of music there is American. Their language is beautiful. I get eye contact with women in Czech. Here they think I am a pervert. If America continues on it's present course I will go to Europe. P.S. there are no fat women in Czech. I was totally mesmerized by the people there. Regards,

Gays don't want civil unions with same rights as marriage. The whole consept behind Gay Marriage is really an attempt to force up tight homophobes into excepting the gay life style. They don't want equal rights they want attention.
To: Bushwacker777
Ah! The slippery slope.
What they don't tell you is wife #2 left her hubby to run off with wife #1. The two women then moved in with hubby of #1.
He then married the both of them
Legally, under their cockamamie law, he is married to # 1 and # 2, and #1 and #2 are married to each other.
Deal with this SCOTUS!

When will we have a similar law here? I want to marry the twins from the Coors commercials. I imagine they're high-maintenance...I'd go for a rent-with-option-to-buy...
