ARTICLE SNIPPET: "NEW YORK — Authorities were increasing mass transit security after word of a credible threat of a bombing on the city's subway system, a law enforcement official said Thursday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in advance of an official announcement, said the threat is "specific to place, time and method."

"Obviously, this is a significant threat," said Rep. Peter King (search), R-N.Y., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee (search)."

Hopefully this has already been foiled. It's the attack plans we DON'T know about that worry me the most.

If we know about it, we can most likely stop it.
