WASHINGTON -- Indicted Texas Rep. Tom DeLay will serve as a ''very powerful adviser'' to the Republican leadership while he battles the conspiracy charge that forced him to step aside as House majority leader, a GOP spokesman said Thursday.
''His experience and insight for over a decade of the Republican majority is invaluable to our leadership and to our members and will be used wisely,'' said Ron Bonjean, spokesman for Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.).
Bonjean said Hastert and DeLay -- two longtime allies -- met privately in the Capitol one day after the Texan was charged with a single count of conspiracy by a Texas grand jury investigating alleged violations of state election law.

Why doesn't Delay move to have the subpoena quashed immediately..force the DA to fold his hand.

In otherwords, he'll remain the power in the House even without the title. LOL
What was all this talk about the agenda being dethroned with his temporary removal from the position? Wishful hopes of Earle, Dems & MSM.

IMHO Delay wants to play this out just to show the public what an IDIOT Ronny Earle really is.

Delay becomes more insidious to the left when driven "underground". Now they won't know what he's doing and how to plan around him. *smile*

On reducing spending? That kinda talk will earn a Republican congressman a visit to Tom DeLay's woodshed! Just ask Mike Pence what happens when one raises his voice in support of fiscal responsibility and respect for the American taxpayer.

"Why doesn't Delay move to have the subpoena quashed immediately..force the DA to fold his hand."
For the same reason Kay Bailey DEMANDED a jury trial when Ronnie Earle wanted to drop his bogus indictments against her in 1993. For the same reason that Delay refused to let the statute of limitations expire. Tom wants to leave no way for liberals to claim that he got off on a technicality. Tom wants to flat out win completely and annihilate Earle.

DeLay should definitely make it a point to be more visible than he was before aa majority leader and more in-you-face against the democrats.
Republicans need to stop being MR Nice Guys.
Let's play by the rules; the democrats' rules.
