I switched over to CNN after Bush & Roberts left the floor. CNN still had their camera on the room and by coincidence front and center of their picture was CBS "newsman" John Roberts.

I can't stand the guy but I do give hime credit for the following line he wrote after the President nominated SCOTUS John Roberts:

I couldn't imagine the name "John Roberts" and the phrase "widely admired for his intellect, his sound judgment and his personal decency" being used in the same time zone, let alone the same sentence.

Note this: The FIRST person, after the President, that Roberts thanked..was Ed Gillespie...that, IMHO, was an in-your-face admission of how political this was..and a thumb in the eye to the Dems..
