Yes, the opening sequence was great!:)
R.I.P. Don Adams
The reall heroes don't brag.
BTW, Did you know John Kerry was in Vietnam?
They don't want to give you the satisfaction of going first.
Ain't that the truth!
I said, "If I have to carry it out to the porch, I'll have a hernia the size of a cow!"
And Buck Henry.
Max: "KAOS has a dental plan?" ( put off because Control didn't )
There was one time that Agent 86 was tied up and he told his captor something like:
"As we speak this building is being surrounded by 100 elite army troops who are trained to kill you at first sight."
captor: "I don't believe that."
Smart: Would you believe 50?
C: no
S: Would you belive 10?
C: no
S: Two brownies selling cookies?
So Buck Henry actually did do something other than host Saturday Night Live.
He was a man of prayer also. See

Although I'm too young to have watched "Get Smart" (Although I vaguely remember it - reruns?). Our family grew to love him as the voice of Inspector Gadget in the cartoons of the same name.
Thank you for all the laughs and Rest in Peace Don Adams.
Blessings and prayers for your loved ones.
- from LibertyRocks whole family
Pity he couldn't last until he was 86.
Thanks for the memories, Don. Rest In Peace.
"I hope I wasn't out of line with that crack about 'gorilla.'"
Sempre Fi, Marine.
No Max Smart was just a character. Even Don Adams was just a stage name (although his kids apparently use "Adams", so maybe he changed it officially.) Marine Donald James Yarmy is on patrol once again. And if "The Management" or all those other Marines need a good laugh, they can call on "Max".
Get Smart was funny. Don Adams was perfect for the role. My fahter LOVED that show. (BTW, He stole my father's name, LOL!) He will be sorely missed. Prayers for he and his family!
Yes it is, 4th paragraph from the bottom.
In 1941, he dropped out of school to join the Marines. In Guadalcanal he survived the deadly blackwater fever and was returned to the States to become a drill instructor, acquiring the clipped delivery that served him well as a comedian.
If he was born '23, he would have probably been 18 when he enlisted in '41, and 19 or 20 when he was evac'ed from Guadalcanal. Then a year of recuperation before becoming a DI. And yes, they did have them that young then. He was after all a combat vet by that time.
May he rest in peace. This was a very good obit, it really told about his entire career. This is another blow after Bob Denver dying, that really knocked me for a loop for some reason.
The theme music was great.
RIP Don.
The Sh** doesn't get much deeper than it was on Guadalcanal.
"If I'm Larry Storch, I'm a little worried right now."
I shouldn't laugh, but that's funny. Let it not be him, just yet, I loved him on F-Troop. Why? I don't even know why, he just cracked me up.
