A coalition of homosexual activists and atheists plan to march on a Boy Scout camp in San Diego next month demanding the organization open its membership and leadership to them.
The group Scouting For All plans to march and rally at a Boy Scout camp Oct. 9.

"Why doesn't this fine coalition start an organization of its own?"
Good idea: rather than the Boy Scouts, they can call themselves the Homosexuals Scouting for Boys. Oh wait; they already have that organization: NAMBLA.
Exactly! If scouting for homosexuals were their goal, (which it is not), then forming their own scouting organization would be far easier than tyring to overturn the customs and principles of a century old organization steeped in Christian values. What they really want is to infiltrate, divide and destroy.
In fact, once the Judiciary orders that homosexuals be allowed to join and teach in the Boy Scouts, the Scouts will cease to exist because their moral foundation will have been abolished. If you add excrement to a prime rib dinner, you have a plate of $#!t.
I'm rady to call it domestic terrorism. Trying to scare children like this, is way over the top.
Absolutely right. This should not be allowed to happen.
I wasn't aware that Girl Scouts accepted openly homosexual leaders- what's your source for this?
As a registered adult volunteer and co-leader of my wife's troop, I have found the Girl Scouts to be fanatical about protecting the girls from possible molestation- to the point where a husband and wife cannot be co-leaders without a third, unrelated female co-leader present.
As I recall, some years ago the Boy Scouts had a problem similar to what the Catholic Church is experiencing now. After a number of high-profile cases and subsequent lawsuits, the Boy Scouts were forced to carefully screen their leaders.
As far as members, the older boys tend to be assistant leaders and mentor the younger boys. So allowing homosexual members would lead to more of the same problems as time went on and the older scouts went on to become leaders as adults.
Now that scouting has 'cleaned up it's act', the radical homosexuals are pressuring them to undo all the positive changes they've made in the last decade or so.
Go figure.
Very well said.
This march and rally needs a good FReep and some attention from http://www.stoptheaclu.com
I know you're asking a rhetorical question, but it's a good one.
What parents would send their kids to such an organization?
later pingout.
They just won't be happy until they have destroyed the Boy Scouts.
Similar? Wanting to have sex with other members of the group is a BIG difference from the rest of them, a hurdle that most people can't get over you liberal putze.
A group of boys standing on a dock waiting to go swimming with most of them thinking how he can shove his buddy in without getting yelled at, all well and good. Add a known homosexual to the group and all the rest of them will be thinking of is "Why is he standing so close to me? Is he looking at me? Why do I have to stand next to him?"
This isn't a learned reaction, kids aren't told to feel this way, they just do, its instinctive for most people to react that way, and for those who say its being homophobic -BS! Its no different than a young man getting goofy when a pretty girl smiles at them, its the SAME THING!
They will never destroy Scouting, but that is clearly their goal.
NAMBLA circling the Boy Scout camp like vultures. Talk about a need for a .357 Magnum!
I can't find a referrence to what I recall, that the girl scouts quietly dropped homosexuality as a disqualifier to leadership and membership and thus are an example of what the Boy Scouts can do. I scanned the Girl Scouts web page and found no overt statement to this fact.
Here is a quote that is fairly innocent, except that the Boy Scouts could not make it. "We invite you to learn about our robust organization and its rich history. From our willingness to tackle important societal issues, to our commitment to diversity and inclusivenessGirl Scouts is dedicated to every girl, everywhere."
That said, I am glad that the Girls have instituted the same policies as the boy Scouts (and in fact all organizations who work with kids). No single adult alone with a single child sums it up well.
While at a father son meeting in my son's troop, one asst scoutmaster suggested that he would be open to charter changes allowing homosexuals in the troop as leaders or scouts. The scouts position is somewhat like "don't ask, don't tell in that the only way a member of this group would be identified and terminated would be for them to deliberately and openly behave in a homosexual manner, or promote homosexuality. Thus the Boy Scouts would allow, (and have in the past allowed) homosexuals who stayed in the closet. The other scoutmasters disagreed with this man and the discussion went no farther.
At the same time the Boy Scouts describes molestation and suggests ways to detect it and talk about it with parents in the Boy Scout Handbook. This will have a chilling effect on Scout to Scout or Adult to Scotu molestation and most of the time allow it to be discovered and delt with.
This I suggest is the real reason for homosexuals to compaign against the scouts. The Scouts anti molestation message would apply to the homosexual coming of age activities that "some" homosexuals engage in as a introduction to the homosexual lifestyle.
supply the Boy Scouts with slingshots
The answer is that there are some who would. Those parents so steeped in the concept of diversity and multiculturism that they support their kids joining Gay Lib groups and participating in a "Day of Silence" at school to show soladairity with the homosexuals of the world...
If Scouts were to have active homosexual leadership, (I mean out in the open leaders who openly discuss their sex lives with the troop, (yuk) Then this troop would see membership, support, and charter decline as well as the national leadership pulling the troop's official charter.
As for athiests, the Scouts are pretty loose about what constitutes a "Duty to G-d" and they allow a scout to define his belief in "any higher power" which can include the collective laws of nature as well as all major religions dieties.
In actuallity, the Boy Scouts does little to "carefully screen their leaders". It would be OK with me if they did, but how do you identify a "known homosexual"? The scout leadership application form only askes if you have a condition that would disqualify you from actively living up to the Scout Oath and Law? Conditions such as being an escaped felon come to mind, but the question is vague. There is no specific question about homosexuality or belief in G-d.
The best example I know is a troop in the South San Jose region in California that once activly advertised that their policy would be different from the national organization in that they would not disqualify a homosexual from being a leader in their troop. (They felt the national leadership was sending the wrong message.) Their charter was not pulled as they had done nothing specifically to act on their pledge. Finally a young man from San Francisco, who was an openly homosexual man, volunteered to drive the 35 some miles each week to their meeting place and applied to be an assistant scoutmaster. The troop denied his request on the grounds that they had no need for additional assistant scoutmasters, and that was the last I heard of the event.
Girls 14 to 21 are part of scouting in the Venture program that is co-ed. They are very active and able to to more "high adventure" scouting than regular troops. They can shoot pistols and navigate higher class rapids in white water.
